Hi. All of the sudden I'm getting this error msg on new listings I'm putting up.
"Shipping cost cannot be calculated. Please enter a valid postal code.
It comes up when USA or Int buyers check the calculated shipping costs. the cost of course doesn't come up. I'm using the exact same Business Policy and settings I've used on identical items for the past week. No problem till today. I tried editting the policy and even end the listing and relisted with Sell similar. Nothing worked.
Is anyone having this happen or does anyone have a fix for it?
Thanks!

Usually the error you described is caused by the dimensions not meeting the minimum for USA expedited or if small or tracked packet the total of L W H must be under 90 cm.
But it says invalid postal code which is strange.

As @richardcm mentioned, the most common problem with USA shipping is because not all 3 measurements meet Canada Post's published minimum sizes when expedited USA is used. I don't use shipping policies but I assume you put the measurements on the listing itself , not on the policy. That would be why a policy would work on one listing but not another.
Note that Domestic expedited parcel has smaller minimums than expedited USA which is why one may work but not the other.
It looks like you are using xpresspost for some of your international listings. Those would have the same minimums as expedited US.
Whenever there is a calculator problem the 'valid postal code' error comes up...it's not a lot of help.
Required minimums can be found on the following link

I noticed that the listing for the NASCO bomber is also missing a shipping cost to the US.
The Canadian shipping cost for the Ludwig poster isn't showing for me either.

PJ. Yes Business Shipping policies do not have the dimensions and weight as they are in the listing specific to the item listed.

Thank you. You are correct...
Woke up in the night and got the answer. My bad.... It WAS size. This box being 11x11 was 3 cm under the minimum for exp p. Needs to be 14cm on one side. For expedited I always have my eye on my packages being too big not too small. No gliche. I own this one now filed as a "brain fart".

Double & triple thank you. Will fix. I was wondering why that bomber wasn't selling!!! 🙂 I'm revising old listings daily and that's something I didn't think to check.
do to all shapes and sizes I use a variety of services including UPS. I need to start checking every listing for the buyer 's view of shipping.
Thanks for pointing out those gliches!

I think the reason for that is because the package size (66x11x11cm / weight = 3.4kg) qualifies for domestic expedited parcel. That rate was showing from the buyer's view. The error only appeared when I checked for a rate to the USA or international where the width of this box was 3 cm too small.
EBays system is working sort of... It would work better if the error msg was relevant IE:
"Your package fails to meet the minimum size requirement for Exp Parcel USA".
If the package meets domestic requirements and your business policy includes international services eBay's programming assumes the package is misdirected hence the postal code error.
As kindly pointed out by @pjcdn2005 I probably lost sales on other items with the same embedded issue. Funny eBay doesn't change it to register an invalid shipping service at the time of listing because when we lose sales they lose FV fees.
Thank you all for helping me out. Lotz had mentioned package size before. When I ship big heavy stuff I don't often consider minimums just maximums!

I'm trying to insert US shipping on my listing for many days and I do not figure out why it do not work.
When I do the listing eveyrthing show up and seems to be ok. But when I go take a look at the listing , or if I go back to revise it, the US shipping don't show up.
What am I missing?
Thanks for your help!

Your listings show shipping to Canada only. On the sell your item form in the international shipping area you have to check off that you ship to the US.
