Re: January 30th 2019 Weekly Session

Hi Tyler, this is more of a suggestion.

I would like the ability to store non active listings on ebay.

For example I had over 166 Christmas CD's listed.  There is a lot of work that goes into making the listing, pictures, details, pricing, etc.  I have ended the listings as the busy period for these is Sept to mid Jan.  I put them onto Turbo lister to list them again in Sept.    It would be great if they could be stored similar to drafts for over 8 months.  Is anything like that available now?  or do I have to rely on Turbo Lister?

Re: January 30th 2019 Weekly Session

Good morning, Tyler.

Thank you for being here and opening the weekly chat.

Moments ago, I received an invitation to an eBay Service Metrics Webinar that I’d love to take except the webinar is in an hour and I can’t possibly do it on such short notice. I used to get invitations to webinars a week or two ahead of time, what happened?! Will it be offered again?

Also, a general gripe: Winnipeg is colder than either North or South Pole or even Mars at the moment. Grumble grumble. Walking to school uphill both ways. Grumble.

Re: January 30th 2019 Weekly Session

YTyler, can you please tell me if it’s still possible to send an invoice to a buyer when they wish to pay in Canadian dollars even though the item is listed on .com in US dollars. This was discussed yesterday on the Seller Central board. I know it used to be possible but is it still something we can do?

Is is there a way to pay in Cdn dollars, if not the above way? Thanks!

Re: January 30th 2019 Weekly Session

I have the strangest problem, If you look my listings, If you are in the US it shows my shipping for international only. Almost all my listings are on the .com site so I am losing a lot of sales. I contacted ebay and they first said I am the only one to have this problem, now there are a few more of us. If I ship a light package from the US it should say shipping is 4.25 but if you are looking at my items you will see the shipping is 14,95 so a buyer is not even going to look at my items. They said they are working on it, but if there are only a few of us with this problem it will take longer because it is not a priority. Most sellers wouldn't even notice if they had this problem because we have no reason to check how others see our shipping prices since we have it set for what we want. So if there is anyone out there who ships from across the border, please check how US buyers see your shipping prices

Hi @musicyouneed - that's a huge amount of work that I wouldn't want to lose either!

Right now, TurboLister or File Exchange are the only eBay tools that would allow you to keep something like that offline. Seller Hub will support drafts indefinitely (though as I've mentioned before, the older they get the more likely they are to error out when you list them), but unsold items will have a max life of 90 days.

Personally, I've heard rumblings about planned features for Seller Hub that would incorporate a longer term storage of listings. To be entirely honest though, I've heard those same rumblings for years and they've never materialized. If you can keep them in TurboLister for now, I think that's the safest place.

There are other third party tools that can do the same thing, though they all come with a price tag. I've worked with sellers who rave about SixBit, InkFrog, Auctiva and Channel Advisor. Everyone has their favorite, lol.

Hi @momcqueen - I'll check with Parker, usually he's really good about getting out advance notice. I'm also fairly certain that they record the webinar for future access. I'll keep you posted when I hear back from him.

Stay warm! You can bet I would be hunkered down, a dog on either side of me, beneath a mountain of blankets.

Hi @vintagenorth - since the change in 2016 there is not a way I'm aware of to invoice a buyer in a different currency from what the item was listed for sale in.

A buyer can absolutely pay in the currency of their choice, it would just be converted into the currency of the listing when making payment, and you'd receive it in that form. For instance, a Canadian Buyer buying a USD item on .com can pay with CAD, which would be converted into USD and deposited into the seller's account (which in some cases, they would convert back to CAD).

Hi @bunbar - I'm not sure what's happening here. It looks like the gallery search page is displaying the largest possible shipping amount regardless of the buyer's registered shipping address. I've filed this for review from the tech team and am hoping we get some information on what's happening on this quickly.

Re: January 30th 2019 Weekly Session

Hi @momcqueen  - update on this! There will be a replay on this next week with an email going out the night before.

You can also check the upcoming calendar here for more detail on what's coming up as well as recordings of past webinars that are available on-demand. Parker also mentioned that as long as you register for the event you will be sent a replay of the entire session, so if something like this happens again you can always register and then get the recording later. 🙂
