About MP - a friend was told.........

A friend was told they are withdrawing their MP invites for now.   People do not need to register yet.  (In Canada?)  So why am I unable to continue adding listings & edit if I don't have to sign up yet???   Let me get more sales before I'm done with this site!    🙂    Good luck to us all.

Because whoever told your friend is mistaken.

How do you know their friend was mistaken? Maybe they were told this.  Members are being told a lot of conflicting information by support staff who aren't sure what is going on either.

Smaller , occasional sellers are not being pushed as hard as those who have several sales a day/week.

Can't answer for Marno but I can say it's not true because my last remaining non-MP selling id got the invite last Thursday. It's actually this id I'm posting from which used to be my main id but is now VERY low volume.

Of course I spent the two minutes to register and I assume the transfer will happen sometime in the next couple of weeks.

Re: About MP - a friend was told.........

My other account that does less than 5 sales a year (last sale being 6 months ago  since I didn't add new listings) also got pulled to MP. I linked it to the same bank account as this one for the $15 coupon lol.

This account didn't get offered for that $15 coupon though. I'm guess it might be because this account is much more active with more listings.

Re: About MP - a friend was told.........

Seems like there are a few different promotional offers going around. The one for the test group for business sellers that were .com registered is 20% off fees for July.

Re: About MP - a friend was told.........

The 20% off was what I was offered on my last remaining id to be converted. Too bad it's this ID I'm posting with which is just a parking lot for dead non-sellers.

Re: About MP - a friend was told.........

Getting back to the original topic...

I am checking in here because I failed to register for MP, when eBay couldn't verify my bank acocnt, despite three tries with their so-called "help" people (very pleasant, but actually not helpful).  When the deadline passed this past week, all of my new listings were canceled. Yet, they are back up today! So, I am wondering if it is really true that Canadian sellers, many of whom had great difficulty getting bank accounts verified, are now being at least temporarily excused from MP? I sure hope so.

Well, while my preivous auctions were reinstated, I can't put up any more. I guess I'm still shut out.

If my wife and I were active sellers right now, I think part of our strategy for dealing with the Managed Payments transition would be to keep our listings as minimal as possible and be prepared to suspend listing after we’d registered. While our transition from Billpoint to PayPal was fairly drama-free, this is a much larger ball of wax and there are many more variables and IT infrastructure to deal with this time around.
