I'm sure I've done this before, but buyer purchased 2 items, one on .CA and one on .COM
Both were shipped together of course in the same box, however I can only attach a tracking number to one - ie I attached it to the first item (.CA), now it doesn't give me any errors but it will not attach it to the second item (.COM) - actually nothing happens, which would lead me to believe it is just (another) current bug.
I'm 90% sure I've attached the same tracking number to a group of items crossing .CA and .COM before, but there's always that 10%.

So it doesn't say that the tracking number is already in use when you try to add the number to the second item? That happens when the buyer has purchased using 2 different id's (guest purchases) but if it is just ignoring your attempts I have no idea why it's happening.

Are you trying to add the tracking to the items on the site that matches the site it was sold on (ie: .com sale on .com and .ca sale on .ca?
In any event....does it matter? Here on .ca there isn't any need to add tracking numbers other than to provide the info to the buyer (who already knows it from the one listing).

@pjcdn2005 your comment jigged my memory, I recalled that the buyer had zero feedback when he started, and voila you are right, they are two different IDs. They're both automagic ones and close enough I did not notice that they were different from each other.
I have had this happen in the past, at that time I did get the message saying it was already used but they were probably all on the same site.
I suspect the combination of trying to "reuse" across sites defeats whatever generates the message.
