What happens now that orders are in the mail with a possible expected delivery date of September 30 and early October, what happens if not received there is no way of knowing whether these items will be received after strike is over. Will eBay delay delivery date?

it is NOT over, and it DOES still affect sellers as they will most likely strike again in the future and keep doing so until the greedy union heads are satisfied which will be never. it is ignorant to think that "whatever at canada post does not affect us as sellers right now". perhaps it doesn't pose a problem to YOU right now, does NOT mean it is not an ONGOING problem that will, most likely, affect you again at some point or another.

Indeed. That's the reason I have drafted my second round of letters (email messages) to the people who oversee these matters in Ottawa.

Andrea Stairs contributed significantly in getting the Postal Union back to work.
She will most likely be watching this court case.... and then what will happen subsequently.
A Federal election is coming this year......
This Canada Post situation should become a part of this election.

Last I read, the only backlogs were around Vancouver. While my sales are well below 'normal' for this time of year, I did not stop selling. I would say that even if you are cautious, the coast is now clear to resume as normal.

There never was that much of a backlog and most of it was inbound International small packets.
The arbitration starts in January, eventually a settlement will be imposed and due to the length of time since the end of the previous contract we will be right back to square one in less than 2 years.

Okay my problem is that my late shipment went up to 3.5% from 1% just this month. Now ebay is about to charge me extra in fees even though your on record saying you will help with lettermail shipments. I expect this to be fixed soon.

How do you know they are going to hit you with the extra 4% fee?

If I were you I would phone and ask them to adjust it.
btw...a trs isn’t affected by late shipments unless they have more than 5 transactions late shipments AND if that works out to be more than 5%. So If you have 3 late shipments which work out to 6%, it wouldn’t affect your status.
Also, Ive never seen anything about late shipments causing a seller to pay 4% more. The info says that if the seller goes above 10%, ebay ‘may’ adjust your handling time....nothing about extra fees.

Isn't that threat of an extra fee for something else entirely? Items Not Received? Or cases closed without seller resolution? I thought it was designed to make the big sellers overseas pay more to ebay for bad service to buyers.

I don't know who exactly it is designed for but you're right, it has nothing to do with late shipments or items not received.
If a seller gets too many out of stock defects and/or unresolved cases and goes below standard, they can be charged that extra 4% fee in all categories.
Or...if the snad cases filed against them are more than their peers AND if they are over the maximum amount (10) and max. percentage they will also get hit with that extra fees in that specific category.

I had an order from China maybe about two weeks ago and according to tracking it's landed in Canada. So it seems things are doing ok.
I'm not sure what airport it landed at but it seems to be going smoothly.
I don't think there is anything much to worry about aside from any results from arbitration and court cases that may open up further actions for CUPW in the near future.

Well, my outbound Canada Post-carried parcels seem to be doing fine but I'm still waiting on two inbound shipments that have been in Vancouver for, like, a month. Canada Post has them too; it's not Customs to blame anymore.

I don't know if this has anything to do with the strike backlog but I had a buyer contact me on the weekend saying the item I sent via lettermail to her in Winnipeg on Dec 6th hasn't arrived yet. I offered her a refund or to send another one and she offered to wait another week or two first.

My regular carrier dropped off a parcel on Sunday December 31.
I didn't realize the day until after he was gone, because we are retired and live in a happy haze where one day segues into another.

If it helps, I had a buyer contact me about an order from around that time also, but this one was going to Quebec. Same issue. They received it last week, about a month after it was shipped. It normally doesn't take that long, so it's safe to say the backlog is to blame.

Sunday, December 30, 2018.
I have to keep asking myself..... What day is it?.... and that is when I consult that bit of information at the upper right corner of my computer... on Google.
There is also a calendar that shows me what I have to do next...with that calendar hanging to the left of me.... those special book sales, when they occur..... and then more, and more.... and more.
Time can fly by when you work.... selling on eBay is 24/7/365..... with one extra day every 4 years....
