What happens now that orders are in the mail with a possible expected delivery date of September 30 and early October, what happens if not received there is no way of knowing whether these items will be received after strike is over. Will eBay delay delivery date?

Now is the time for tens of thousands of people directly affected to request the federal government intervene.
eBayers should contact their local MPP to express an opinion on the matter.

From the Winnipeg Free Press, November 16, 2018
The following was issued to postal outlets on Wednesday .....
"The post office will no longer accept any foreign mail for the duration of rotating strikes By CUPW" .....................This applies to outgoing mail
------------
Also..... Issued to international postal services
"We have been forced to advise international posts, including the US Postal Service, that we are unable to accept incoming items until further notice." ............. This applies to incoming mail.
Canada Post is slowly shutting down.....

I found the article that you are quoting but it’s odd that there is nothing about that on the CP site. There seems to be some skepticism that Canada Post really will stop accepting international mail.

CUPW has created a mess..... Canada Post must respond.
The major part of the backlog has to be parcels. The fact that the major part of the backlog is most likely parcels, could be an indicator of the importance of Canada Post to on-line sellers and to people that buy on-line.
eBay has spoken to the Government... The Government is ready to respond
CUPW must respond in a positive manner to Canada Post's offer on November 17. ... If there is no positive response....
November 18 will be a RED HOT day.

If we look back to 2016. and then what is happening in 2018, could put CUPW into a difficult situation.
The Government may find a way to end CUPW's control of negotiations.

Sounds like hijinks to be honest. They can't refuse international mail under UPU terms.

Anyway, I'm done speculating on this. Canada Post would not close its borders to all incoming and outgoing mail without notifying its actual customers (and at the very least posting it on their website) so I strongly suspect the 'notice' is falsified and the reporter failed to do due diligence in fact-checking before running with it.
That being said, we need to know if there's even a grain of salt of truth here.
Can you use your powers to confirm whether it's actually true that Canada Post has shut down accepting mail to and from international destinations? It affects every ebay buyer and seller if that's true.

I'm on the phone with my postal counter. There is no such notice to outlets. In Winnipeg, they got communication that said their area was subject today to rotating strikes and to "keep accepting mail as per usual" despite the backlog of mail.
I would encourage every ebay seller in Winnipeg to call their local postal counter or authorized dealer and ask what I did: Did you get this notice? The only thing they heard at mine was the rumour printed in the Winnipeg Free Press taken as fact but which I would bet came into the mailroom anonymously and was so juicy that no one thought to actually check it.
Don't get me started on journalism standards or the reporter in question. I have history here.

As per the original eBay Dot CA Announcement regarding a possible postal "disruption", the term Business as Usual no longer applies. Was just a matter of time!!
Should Canada Post service be disrupted, we recommend that sellers:
All interesting suggestions on dealing with a strike but not very realistic for most sellers.

I think the Free Press reporter failed to verify the authenticity of that notice they obtained.
Or confused it with the Royal Mail.
"some international carriers, such as the Royal Mail, have now announced that they will be suspending the shipment of international mail destined for Canada until labour disruptions have been resolved."
11-16-2018 01:18 PM
It says 'some international carriers' so who other than Royal Mail has indicated they will stop shipping to Canada? I think it's important to know. An ebay seller cannot adjust international postal rates charged on ebay listings to courier rates without knowing which destinations are affected.
If we don't know precisely which of our international destinations are affected, we cannot know which rates will be affected for which customers and which ones require change.
Does ebay expect me to stop selling to customers in the UK? Or does ebay expect me to stop buying from the UK? We need to know.
Thanks.
Also, confirmation the details of this story in the Free Press are based on a hoax.
