Hi community,
I have a question and your insight would be appreciated. I have listed an item on auction and the biddig winner is from the country I am not willing to ship to and the account has zero feedback story (thought registered in 2018). I contacted the buyer prior to the auction ending and informed that would not be able to sell the item to him, expecting that he will stolp bidding. However, placed a winning last minite bid and won an auction.
I am leaning to cancelling the auction, as my my gut feelling tells me there is something fishy about the buyer.
I feel a bit lost as never had done similar before. Item was sold for $300 US and I don't mess up. Any suggestions?

Which country are then in? It's possible that they plan on using a forwarding company in the US in which case you would only be shipping to the US. Your listing specifies shipping to the 'Americas' which includes South America and Mexico. Some countries in SA can have very slow delivery and I've had a few problems in Mexico so that is one country that I always block.
If you do not specify shipping to the country that the buyer is in and they don't have an address in a country that you ship to you can cancel using the reason 'problem with address' without any penalities.

What country is your buyer from, and how long have they been on eBay? Do they want the item shipped to their home country or to one of the countries you do ship to?
Your listing states that you ship to North and South America which is, frankly, a bit unusual.

I would certainly change your shipping from North and South America.
Mexico has a terrible postal system.
And when you allow "North and South America" it overides any lower cost shipping you may have for the USA, our biggest market.
But- yes- "Problem with Address" cancellation would be your saviour here.
The buyer will be allowed to leave feedback, but if he really is a scammer, he won't because he doesn't want to be on eBay's radar.
