Dynamic promoted listing is dangerous

Daily reminder to be careful with this scammy feature.

You agree to use it to be competitive, you don't look anymore, and by the time, you're at close to 20% fees added. Never seen the percentage this high. People using it just drive the number up for none more visibility. 17.6% for 16 views past 31-days, only 9 views from promoted.

Means with FVF that ebay takes close to 40% in fees on your sale. Totally insane.

If my recollection is right, if someone clicks on a promoted item, the timer is 30 days, ie if they purchase the item up to 30 days later the promoted rate at that original click time will apply whether or not it is still promoted.

I saw the reverse of this because I had people purchasing an item and paying the LOWER rate before I raised it for an experiement.

Ahhhh, I haven't used it before myself but the 30 days makes sense now because otherwise I guess people could click to promote, they may get a pile of watchers (potential buyers) and therefore aren't allowed to just turn it off so the 30 days has to carry out. Thanks for clarifying, all stuff to try and store in my memory, just in case it's needed in the future.

and if attention had been paid to the terms of use when engaging in this feature, you would have known the ad rate is applicable for 30 days...

"Choose how you’d like your ad rate to be set up—dynamic or fixed. An ad rate is the percentage of your item’s total sale amount (including item price, shipping, taxes, and other applicable fees) that you’re willing to pay when your promoted item sells within 30 days of a click on your ad."

Do you ever post with other intentions than being toxic for no reason? Every time you post it's just to point out and call out negatively.

because the percentage stay applied for a time after click, i'm still getting charged the rate.

How ironic to call out someone about paying attention to things while answering to that person without paying attention yourself to things.

hmm...and as per your many many rants and argumentive threads, there seems to be a problem in your accepting truth, honesty and reality......

and BTW you stated "the percentage stay applied for a time after click" and I stated the specific amount of time of 30 days...

Sometimes if you are not completely BLUNT nobody pays attention and/or never actually learns how things work.

Got hit once again. $20.45 selling fees on a $49.99 sale. Promoted fee was like 4% when i selected the feature. Ended being took 41% of my selling price by ebay.

Anyone know where do we fix a cap? Personally never seen the feature.
