END OF SUMMER RESULTS

well my financials are in for the summer and it looks like i have some  improvment not much but some  have been trying to cost cut here and there to improve my results  and some of them worked

my sales are down but thats everyone on ebay.ca - has to say that -- only the you tubers  claim they are making money -- the real grinders the ones i  talk online  are all  in the same boat ---- sales down and will be for a while --- costs are where to improve --so i try -- my costs before summer started where about  55% of sales  thats being ebay cost costs at 29% of sales total  and  shipping at 26% of total sales -- well i have improved a little to 25% ebay costs and and 20-22 % shipping costs - so at 45-48%  i am under 50 % cost of my sales which was my goal -

using some of the tips others here have posted  --my next goal would be to get it under 40 % cost of sales but that may be a tough nut to crack -- but iam using less shipping supplies and more use of those prepaid boxes at the post office where  they make a difference - any rural address gets one of those ( cuase that gas sir charge isn't going away ) -- big cities still hand wrap and send  that way--saving sometimes 2 dollars here 2 dollars there -- i didn't think it would add up to much-- but it does by using the prepaid boxes i use less supplies also --which i hadn't thought about before  saving 50 cents here a dollar there -- by the time the figures rolled in at this the summers end my % cost did go down and yes my sales went down also mind you   from last year but i expected that -the way things are - i will just keep pluging - i have almost 2ooo listings now and about another 300-400 listings  to go before iam done listing all that i have - so by late fall early winter i  will have new figures which will show improving even a littel more --i hope

one other thing i noticed is when i review my listings 1 in 5 has something wrong with it mostly something i did wrong two years ago  when i started   shipping  price to high or price of goods  too low or in correct pictures ( i learned a valiable lesson never never never bulk list )( something always goes wrong here at ebay with me any ways)-- but a lot of them listings faults are ebay faults changing things on my listings  when i din't do it-well i got four more listings till lunch and the day--- going for a walk  after that  and straighten my neck out with some tai chi moves not the whole set just first 17 - while i walk

have a great day all

Re: END OF SUMMER RESULTS

Are you buying those prepaid boxes online at a discount?

Re: END OF SUMMER RESULTS

I'm sure that you gave some good points in your post. But without capital letters, punctuation and paragraphs, it's very difficult for these old eyes to read it.

Just my opinion

Small and medium pre-paid boxes will increase in price by 50 cents on Monday, September 12.

If you use a lot of small and medium, then stocking up before Sept 12 will save a bit of money.

Price for large pre-paid boxes will remain the same.

Fuel surcharge will drop 8.5% on September 5,  so a delay in buying any weekend shipping until after the surcharge price drop can save money.

Re: END OF SUMMER RESULTS

Buying online in bulk does reduce the per item price.

https://store.canadapost-postescanada.ca/store-boutique/en/8/c/flat-rate-prepaid-products

If you scroll down to Flat Rate Products the price of the small prepaid box is $7.33 each. Not a huge discount but it all helps.

I didn't try it with my Solutions for Small Business number, but that might also make a difference.

$7.33 if true, would be a huge 60% discount on a $18.49 flat rate box.

Price I see for flat rate boxes (when signed into my Solutions for Small Business account) is:

* Small - 12 for $221.88  or $18.49 each (until Sept 11)

* Medium - 12 for $281.88 or $23.49 each (until Sept 11)

The cost is the same as at the post office/outlet -- no discount for buying online.

Re: END OF SUMMER RESULTS

i agree with you after what the other seller said about the almost a third off i phoned immediately and was told there is no discount for the prepaid boxes even online in 12 bulk packs -- even using your card doesn't lower the price - maybe i missing something here -- but the lower gas levy will be lowered they said in sept depending are where you live and the routes you ship -- big cities get big discounts rural areas not hardly at all-- oh well back to listing -- just got some bad news -- they have lowered my preferred rating it went to 2.08% when i canceled an order that someone ordered the same thing twice in same day and i git dinged-- have to figure out how many sales i have to increase to get back below 2% before Sept 20 th --- could be a big challenge -   oh well if i lose preferred listing again - I am not going to sweat it -- it maybe will save me money who knows? we will see -- back to listing about 275 more items to go
