Does ebay offer this anymore? These outsourced call centers are pretty terrible to deal with in my opinion.

There's a page devoted to it on the dot-com site but I can't find anything on the dot-ca site.

https://www.ebay.com/help/account/changing-account-settings/ebay-concierge?id=4358

You'll see at the bottom of that page that you also have the option to chat online for assistance, and if you're using the desktop version of this site, you can scroll to the bottom of this (or practically any other) page and contact eBay through Facebook or Twitter.  All three of these options are apparently staffed by eBay employees rather than outsourced or contracted workers.

Yes the phone reps are outsourced to subcontractors with poor training and less authority.

The ones in Utah have problems grasping concepts like "Canada" "different eBay site" and "soveriegn nation".

The Pinoy reps have less problem understanding that we are operating under different rules than Americans, perhaps because they have a cousin working in a nursing home in Calgary.

Anchor ($300 a month) store gets better reps for phone service. That would be the most equivilent to conceierge I think. I never had issues with the reps when I called and had Anchor store support, was fast, 1 minute or less to talk to someone and they solved my issues quickly. I might have called once a year if that though.

The enhanced phone support is exactly why I'm still an anchor store subsrciber*. My guess is that I use them about 6 times a year, but the lack of trials, time (same experience 1 min wait max) and tribulations so far has made me feel it is worth it.

*originally I stayed on Anchor because of needing the better support for MP concerns, and I did need them a couple times "MPing". Help was fast and effective, enough so and when compared to what I'm hearing about "regular" phone support on the boards here I've still stuck with it. I'm medium old enough to still want to talk in person with someone.

I prefer talking to people vs chat as well. However with the extra amount of listings handed out april 1st I downgraded this month. I guess whenever I need to call ebay I'll find out how bad the "regular" reps are lol! The 240$ a month savings I think for me at this stage is worth it.

Yes $240 a month is too much for only the help support! My difference is about $100 a month (I have 2nd category fees etc) which still makes it pretty expensive on an annual basis, but it only takes one disaster call to make a lot of $$$ lost time/income difference.....

A loooonnnnngggg time ago, I believe one qualified by one's volume of sales, yes there were account service? (can't remember their title) folks. I was called by them and chatted with at least 2 of them.

My recollection was that they were very nice people, but they had relatively general knowledge and I didn't get any "new" ideas from them. As a result I never called them back after the initial getting to know you call.

Personally I've found these boards to be far far more valuable as the information comes from folks with actual experience.

I can say 90% sure that the account reps were before the time I found/spent time on the boards so it has been a long time ago.
