I sell high quality ammolite Jewelry.
When you google the term " ammolite Jewelry"-- Ebay is right at the top and when you hit their link a page with 50 items appears.
Better than 50 % of the first 50 items that Ebay shows a customer are not ammolite at all--they are imposters--they are simply cheap ammonite fossils from Madagascar which are not ammolite at all.
Ammolite refers to the gem that is created from Alberta Canada Ammonite fossil remains--a gem that is man made and recognized by the world Colour Stone Commission in 1981.
In its top grades it is expensive, very colourful and one of the rarest gems in the world.
People searching for Ammolite should not have these cheap brown ammonites presented to them.
Many have written to eBay and proved the differences between the two products. No response.
Madagascar ammonite fossil jewelry should be listed under fossil jewelry.
Ammolites should be listed as fine jewelry in its own category.
I have communicated with many staffers in Ebay--they take the information and shrug often not even bothering to respond to Emails.
This equates to being offered fine diamonds when what is actually offered are industrial diamonds.
Does anyone at Ebay care?
Nope.
Very Frustrating.

I remember a thread you started a few months ago on the same subject:
Any positive results?

yes.
I updated you on that thread yesterday.
Your suggestions were very good and very helpful.
I revamped my site--researched Cassini more-- and now my listings and store are #1 in my category--Ammolite "fine jewelry".
So we got all that fixed but not the fake ammolite listing issue that Ebay ignores.
Sales are still poor although my stats now show that I am getting more visits right now that I did last month or--- last year when sales were pretty perky.
I am now starting to think this is an economic malaise we are feeling the results of.

ZOMBIE THREAD FROM 2013.
If it's from India, it's not ammolite.
"Ammolite is an opal-like organic gemstone found primarily along the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains of North America."-- Wikipedia
