So sick of buyes that pay for slow shipping then when the item doesn't arrive by the time ebay suggested they want their money back in full. But of course they then get the package too and for free. What the hell.

To begin with- never ever ever use Surface shipping overseas.
And do not give the customer a choice. If he can't afford prompt, secure shipping, he can't afford your item.
Some sales are not worth having.
I'm confused. You are in Canada but your listing says you ship from the USA? And you are able to ship a Cabbage Patch Doll in a USPS Priority Mail envelope? Or a bag that is 13x10"?
The problem may be that you are not delivering what you promise. You are nearly two hours from the US border. How do you afford the drive to put each sale in the USPS mailstream?
Here is the Canada Post rate card

When we list on dotCOM instead of dotCA, we have to use Flat Rate Shipping. This is difficult for shipping anything domestically that cannot travel LetterMail (under 500gr and /or 2 cm) since rates vary with distance.
Even to the USA the distance makes some difference in the rate.
We have to find the happy medium.
I include the US shipping cost in my asking price and offer Free Shipping to Canada and the USA. This is one form of Flat Rate shipping. But I rarely ship parcels, given what I sell. YMMV.
USPS delivery times are shorter than Canada Post delivery times and much shorter than cross-border delivery times.
It will take time to correct 400 plus listings, but the listing must reflect reality.
