FYI eBay Shipping Supplies only uses Canada Post for delivery

I wanted to use my Q4 Shipping Supplies coupon. I messaged the eBay Shipping Supplies Canada account to find out how they’re going to deliver with the CP strike.

They replied that they are still using CP as their dedicated carrier and that shipments may be delayed due to the strike.

Sounds like they’re going to ship orders once the strike ends. You might want to place your order and also find a local supplier, in case the strike drags on.

The discount coupon is what makes the eBay branded product viable.  Without that, purchasing locally at Staples would be my choice.

I think you're mistaken. Staples is open and operates in Canada. They have stores in all provinces and territories, except for Nunavut.

They are definitely an option for a local shipping supplies supplier, if your eBay shipping supplies order is held up due to the strike.

Luckily, Staples orders aren't affected by the Canada Post strike, according to their website.

Staples is alive and well in Canada!! If you buy online there are more products available than in-store. If you get a Preferred Account you get extra savings too.

2024: Staples Canada is closing 15 of its 331 stores. The majority are still open for business.

Reading the propaganda put out by Staples, they are closing a modest percentage of B&M (US & Canada) stores because they are moving towards more online business over traditional retail and at the same time expanding their product range.

I have a Staples near to me (5 minute drive) but when I need some paper or pens or other basic office supplies I just go online and order given that the pricing is the same and delivery is usually next day.

The only time I go to a physical Staples is to use their colour copiers (once or twice a year), if they close my local store I'll just have to go 5 minutes in the opposite direction to use an alternate service.

Interesting. I hadn’t heard this. Do you have a link? The only info I found referencing this was from 2014.

Further research shows you are correct. The site I sourced from neglected to include a time frame for the Staples closures as they were also talkin about Staples having Service Ontario added to some stores (with the matching stand-alone Service Ontario locations getting closed in 2024).
