So a NEG today  Buyer feedback claims:

Item was as described and was received (Vintage 8"X10" GLASS NEGATIVE B&W FORMAL BRIDAL GOWN Studio Photograph R-42)  left positive comment with a neg rating.

If sellers did this FB would be removed in a sec, and possible penalized by ebay to boot. 

but sellers have to BEG buyers to correct  feedback.     

Sellers live and die by feedback ( I hear it all the time on these boards sellers with less than perfect feedback are pariah and should be avoided at all costs by buyers) there needs to be a better way.

So how bout EBAY  buyers can NOT leave negative feedback until they have first contacted sellers to let them know a problem exists and allow for resolution of any issues prior to NEGING a sellers account.

The comment is positive so they might have clicked on the negative by mistake. Have you tried  contacted them and asking them about it? If they say that it was a mistake ask them if you could send them a feedback revision.

I know how frustrating it is getting a negative but  I don’t think one is going to affect you if  you can’t get it revised.  I suspect that few buyers these days even look at feedback and if they do,I doubt that they would care about one negative.

Got it sorted buyer revised as it was a mistake in posting the feedback

so no harm no foul in the long run. 

HOWEVER 

I still hold that any buyer feedback that is negative in nature, should be restricted PRIOR to contacting the seller. In order for seller to identify/rectify/correct the issue or issues. 

A sellers standing, and the buyers perception of a sellers performance, has a consequences not  just limited to the feedback score.
