Do the GTC listings renew on the same day every month? What I am meaning by that is if I listed one on April 1, 2019 will it renew automatically on the 1st of each month until I cancel it.

didn't work, i have 59 listings, that i did, on july 2nd, and this morning, they took 59 away from my store total, now as the items are ending they are taking them away again.. so i am getting double dinged.. If it happens again tomorrow i will run out of listings by the end of the month. and then i will have to pay for listings that auto relist, C.S. said it should be looked after on my september invoice, Boy that is less than helpful.. i can't believe that this wasn't foreseen and worked out prior to launch.

Hopefully, tyler@ebay any billing discrepancies caused will be resolved for this "issue" prior to August's bill and won't end up being a case of pay extra this month and wait for a credit next month. Really gives new meaning to the phrase "Numbers may vary." For some sellers, they live and die by their quota of listings for each month and this was something they had no control of and in theory potentially throw off their personal listing schedule. Having to end listings early should really not be a required tool in the toolbox.

Completely agree. I want my listings back... those that were used in advance. It's not fair to "pay" for the same listing twice in 2 days...

Hi @esclyons & @lady.stark! I want to make sure I'm on the same page, as I think there's a few things converging to make it extra confusing.
Background:
In July we started the Good Til Cancelled mandate, and also began the transition from 30 day renewals to once monthly renewals. This means that your Good Til Cancelled item would renew on the same day of the month that it was originally listed.
On the 31st of July there was a billing issue that billed your account for a 30 day renewal for items created on the 1st.
Under the current process, an item started on July 1st should be renewed on the 1st of August, which still happened (taking from your new monthly insertion allotment). That's the correct billing process.
In addition, you were billed on the 31st of July for the item - but it did not renew the item. That issue was corrected last week and you should not see this happen again. Those are the charges that we are working to find and credit.
Items renewing on their monthly date are accurate charges and wouldn't be incorrect.
If you want to share an item number example I'm happy to break it down further!

my double billings happened on august 2nd, when i got up in the morning, the59 gtg lisitngs i started on july 2nd, had already been taking from my monthly allotment. those 59 items hadn't ended yet, then 12 hours later as they ended and relisted themselves, they counted down another 59 listings from my allotment.. this was all for items i listed on the 2nd of july, when a full calendar month should have been given, as they ended on august 2nd., nothing to do with july 31st.

It's the same for me. 5 items were taken out of my free allotment 24 hours before their renewal date. I didn't take the chance to see them take other free listings, so I ended them. The items I gave in a previous post are those items (192973034146 - 202724195752 - 192973034815 - 192973035007 - 202724196745).

Hi @lady.stark - thank you for these item numbers. These were also impacted by the billing issue (as you know).
All of those items were originally listed on the 2nd of July, meaning they should have renewed on the 2nd of August, per the shift to monthly renewals.
Instead, the billing error caused an insertion/allotment to be charged incorrectly at 30 days from the listing's creation (the 1st of August). The root cause of this error has been resolved, meaning it shouldn't happen now or in the future.
The once-monthly renewal would have happened on the 2nd if you had not ended the listings involved. At this point, should you relist those items they will renew on the same day of the month that you list them.
If you're seeing any more recent items that are charging you at 30 days instead of the day you listed it get me those item numbers so I can get it reported for further review. Thanks!

223573824682,223573824684,223573824686 plus there is 56 more items, that auto renewed on aug 2, and i had 2 taken from my 1,000 allotment, for each item, 59, were taken from my allotment, then as each of the 59 items rolled over, at their expire time, i had another taken from my 1,000 total, so ebay counted my 59 items as 118 items.

Hi @esclyons -
It looks like these items were listed on the 2nd of July. The billing issue charged you 30 days later, the 1st of August, and then the monthly renewal occurred on the 2nd of August.
While customer service doesn't have a way to issue you insertion fee credits, if you end up going over your store allotment by those 59 you can contact in and request those fees be credited back to you due to this error.

So... it is impossible to get those listing "fees" back? Not very happy about this... but at least, it's just 5 and not the whole 50 I have. Hopefully, a promo will help get back those listings we lost....

In doing another sort of current listings have discovered listings that were started:
July 2 (GTC) showing an end date of Sept 2. Are these maybe being pre-automagically-billed???
July 23 (GTC) showing an end date Aug 23
NEW listings started Aug 3 with end date of Sept 3.
Anyone with a rational explanation would be happy to hear!!!

Maybe eBay gave you a full additional month to compensate the double charge?
08-07-2019 12:07 PM
Hi @lotzofuniquegoodies - the 'Start Date' column will always show you the original listing date of the item - so in your screenshot it's indicating that the item on top was originally listed July 2nd. It will also track the total time that the listing has been running (the '1 month and 4 days' bit), in case you want to evaluate whether or not you want to end it and replace it with different stock.
The 'End Date' is always going to be the date of next renewal (on Fixed Price listings), in this case the renewal date on that first listing would be September 2nd (since August 2nd has come and gone).
You are not being pre-billed. Thanks!

The appropriate teams ... are currently working to identify and credit listings that were double charged incorrectly in July.
August 9: Credits to reverse incorrectly charged GTC on July 31 now show on my account.

i have no such credits, for the 59 extra listings, they took from my store limit.. I was told if i go over at the end of the month to call in and ask for credits back, if i go over my limit.. Go figure.. oh that's right i forgot that i work for ebay.
And have to correct their mistake at the end of the month..

In situations where someone is double-billed or over-billed, the normal procedure should be a credit and would even include an apology. To suggest the seller is responsible to discover these "errors" and then almost beg for a credit, that's a very poor business decision on someone's part. Accountability seems to have gone out the window, as of late!!!

PS. In anyone's past memory do you ever remember getting an automatic credit for billing errors at their end from eBay?
08-11-2019 09:38 AM
I have 41 GTC listings finishing today & they will renew automatically today and will end on the 11th next month and renew automatically and so on and so on...
I have GTC listings ending/renewing most days.
I have 800 plus listings mostly GTC

Yes. Has happened for system wide problems in the past. But eBay has to know about the problem in the first place -- so Sellers need to inform eBay when an error is found that hits a Seller's pocketbook.
