I've set all my shipped quotes to real price quote UPS/fedex , let the Canadian awe in the reality. $37 shipping yes meet your new reality.. enjoy
Total agreement with showing actual UPS/Fedex rates an options. Only problem though is customers "believe" sellers are using inflated rates. Majority of buyers have no idea how much it actually costs to either mail a letter or send off a parcel even with any applicable discounts. This can cause a buyer, on occasion to leave a neg or neutral when it comes to leaving feedback or a low score on those other ratings. Even though seller is shipping based on what they paid for that postage. Personally I have never being a fan of being graded on something I have zero control over. Probably that is just me.
Also very critical to consider if you are using Fedex or UPS as backup, as a seller you risk an inflated bill after the fact or newly created bonus charges for your seller for customs processing...depending how they pay for amounts owing for buyers.

I don't blame anybody who needs lettermail or Canada Post for not abstaining.
Personally, I am going to keep UPS calculated shipping until there is more clarity. It seems reasonable to assume that since CUPW blinked despite there being no progress, that Canada Post might lock them out as a strategy to get things moving. I don't want to deal with the back and forth for parcel orders.
