eBay recently changed how "Views" are done. They said the new way filtered out non-human traffic (bots) and would be a more accurate number of real views. They also changed it so that views are no longer the lifetime number and only reflect the last 30 days. Of course this means lower numbers and I know this number has gone down for me also but as long as I'm still getting some sales (not quite as much but there are many factors in play here) I'm hopeful things will pick back up. If we have 30 views but no sales on an item it's worse than only 1 view but that person bought! Hope things get better (and that the glass is half full!)

Yes it is very disconcerting to see auctions running with 0 or 1 or 2 or 3 views as compared to the old view count levels.
I've been paying most attention to my auctions but I have noticed a couple things with the "new view" style.
The ratio of "watchers" to views is higher, ie 1 watcher from 2 or 3 views is common, sometimes even 1-1. That ratio used to be a lot lower, ie many more views required to generate even a small number of watchers.
The ratio of bids to views is higher than it was before.
The meaning of items with lots of views means more, generally it is going to be a big winner as an auction. This was true of the old style as well, although the view number was much larger.
As msau is doing, I'm concentrating on the actual sell through rate, and that seems to be the expected level given the current overall/market situation.

Wise words.
There have also been reports of items selling with no views at all, which leads me to think that Views are not a high priority for eBay and are posted in their own good time and not immediately.
There is also a difference in Views and their meaning between Fixed Price listings, where a View without a sale is a rejection of the offer, and the much less popular Auction listings, where a View may mean the customer has a bid in with an sniping service to be executed in the last seconds of the Auction.
Watchers on the other hand, Watch.

I started selling in 2005 and ever since then, there have always been comments about eBay wanting to get rid of small sellers. If that was true, they would have figured out how to do that by now. I think it's safe to say that it is not true.

after 2010, it became a common thread theme-especially after every eBay announcewment and/or eBay seller update>there would be numerous threads predicting the end of eBay, the end of small business sellers, the end of small/part-time sellers,etc,etc,etc...

Oh it must be true! Look at how They are recruiting in Sri Lanka and VietNam!
To say nothing of all those mega-sellers who are obviously lizard people.
