I list on eBay.com and I was listing some new items tonight and a few got listed but when I continued to list new items there was no option for NO RETURNS.
When I tried to list a new item I got this disclaimer: It looks like there's a problem with this listing. A return option is missing or not valid. Update your return options.

Well, there's this note:
Returns will not be accepted unless you select domestic or international return options above. The item can always be returned if it doesn’t match the listing description.
Which is a reminder that No Returns does not mean No Refunds, as you posted.

Yes, but you can choose No Returns as I always do when listing... but that doesn't mean the buyer can't return the item.
There's some kind of glitch in the system.....

Interesting.
The No Returns option does not appear on new listings on dotCA.
The No Returns option does not appear on Sell Similar on dotCA.
The No Returns option does not appear on a Bulk Sell Similar on dotCOM.
I don't see much use for it myself, and it's been my observation that a lot of the rants we see on dotCOM in particular are from sellers who don't want to give refunds and think they are "protected" by the No Returns option.
I realize there are situations where it would be the best option (lingerie? used CDs that can be copied?).
But after "springing " GTC on sellers, albeit with a few months notice, it is quite kack-handed to remove the option.

but that doesn't mean the buyer can return the item.
What happens when an unhappy buyer returns the item on her own dime? Is the seller required to refund?
The real question in my mind is less about returns than about refunds.

With the No Returns option there still is this disclaimer: The item can always be returned if it doesn’t match the listing description.
The No Returns box is now missing even though I listed a few items tonight with No Returns.

That sure sounds like a glitch. But I'm surprised it affected the three kinds of uploading I was doing.

I haven't had a return in over 5 years and even then it was one return with another 7-8 years with no returns. That one return ended up being fraudulent. He kept the photo and sent me part of a newspaper that he read that morning...lol!
I can laugh about it now but it wasn't that funny at the time. I had to get a negative feedback removed and I battled with the Feedback Specialist for about 40 minutes!

Yes, let's hope it's a glitch or perhaps eBay didn't inform sellers about the No Returns policy being removed from the listing forms.

@ypdc_dennis had a very good response. No Returns is a default setting.... I believe this is now a glitch. Perhaps tyler@ebay can help clarify what the problem is....

UPDATE: Listing new items with No Returns is back to normal as I started listing again after 1 am. I may have been listing while eBay techs were preforming the regular Thursday night maintenance to the site. It's probably what caused the glitch.

Hi @silverpinups - Thanks for the update and letting me know you're seeing it work as you'd expect.
Keep me updated if that changes again? Thanks!
