Item Shipped to Closed Business

I sent a package CP expedited, and delivery was attempted - but it was undeliverable. Anyone know what this means in Canada Post tracking details:

"Business temporarily closed, item on hold."

Why would a buyer have a package is sent to business that is closed? Or does "temporarily closed" simply mean it's only closed on the day/time delivery was attempted, and then delivery will be attempted again?

Should I contact the buyer to inform them, in case they're not checking tracking?

Have you tried Googling the address you shipped to to find out what the business in question is, and then researching the business?

“Temporarily” simply means “not permanent,” so the closure could be for a short or lengthy period of time. The length of time the shipment will be on hold will likely depend on the arrangement the addressee has made with Canada Post.

Re: Item Shipped to Closed Business

When I had a B&M Store we didn't open until 11:00am, at that time the carrier in the area was doing deliveries earlier than that so anything that could not fit the mail slot would get a "temporarily closed" notation.

On the third hand, items returned as Undeliverable, are not required to be refunded.

Message your customer. She may be able to pick it up at the PO.

Definitely message them (via eBay message) so that they can follow up on it. Even if they don't reply, as lease you have a paper trail that you tried contacting them.
