eBay may be nickel and diming to death some of us small sellers, but Canada Post is doing likewise. Me thinks some USA sellers probably say same about USPS.

Percentage wise those are the lowest increases they've passed on in several years, I was expecting worse.

... I am curious if they are going to finally introduce a Canada to Canada fixed rate small packet rate to take small parcels out of our Lettermail Oversize stream. Or maybe ban goods completely from Lettermail since they have introduced their flat rate boxes in most post offices this year.
CP tested a small lightweight domestic packet in the summer of 2017 (there is a thread buried in the ebay forums somewhere). Weights of 250g and 500g, small packet dimensions. Nothing heard since then.
CP tried banning goods from oversize domestic letters 15 or so years ago and failed. The flat rate boxes don't address that issue.
Will be interesting to see if flat rate boxes get a price increase or remain the same.

No change in price for January 2020.

Would be a dark day for video game sales if they stop hard good in lettermail, although I would love a small packet system.
I personally don't see the value of the flat rate boxes at the current price point. So far it has always been cheaper for me to print the label myself unless its to Nunavut or some rural location on the other side of the country. Plus I consider it more work to manually fill out the form, and the cost doesn't go on my Canada Post account. (approaching level 3 now)

Can we buy those boxes in quantity from Canada Post as we can ExpressPost envelopes? Perhaps online?
That might be usable towards going up a level in SfSB/Venture One.
They need a coffee cup size box too.
The boxes are not bad sizing for hardcover books and garments like sweaters or jeans, and I've used the smallest one to ship large postage orders.

Sadly only the envelops are available online with a bit of discount. If you sign up for mail from CPC from time to time you may get a coupon. Almost threw the last one out in error. $3.00 off my next purchase in recent batch of flyers. Yes. A smaller size would definitely be a nice addition.

Darn, that means I can't do 0.39 x 8 = $3.12 anymore... Why can't they pick an even number like $3.18 or 3.20

0.39 x 7 + 0.46 x 1 = $3.19
0.39 x 8 + 0.07 x 1 = $3.19

Thanks for posting that link to the Price Charts for 2020. I usually spend a bit of time trying to find these sheets which end up being my go to for looking up lettermail prices and envelope dimensions.
I notice that this years sheets do not have the dimension specifications and I am wondering if that means that all that matters is the weight. Does anyone know if the length, width & thickness specs for lettermail have been eliminated or changed?
I often have a book that meets the weight requirement, but is too thick. It would be nice if thickness did not matter. I also sometimes have items that would fall into the Standard mail weight requirements, but had to be careful that the item met the dimensions for standard mail envelopes. This information is missing on the 2020 charts. If it is still relevant does anyone know where to find it?

I would assume the thickness of 2 cm will remain since we're told that is a parameter for the machinery.

No changes to size have been announced.
Most of those size limitations are because of the machinery that handles/sorts lettermail.
So the max dimensions for oversize is still 38 x 27 x 2 cm (14.9 x 10.6 x 0.8 inches).
