It looks like eBay is walking back their threat of blocking sellers from listing after July.15/20 if they haven't signed up for Managed Payments.
I wonder why??
Hi silverpinups,
You may have received a communication earlier today regarding eBay managing your payments. We incorrectly communicated that you would not be able to create new listings after July 15th if you were not registered. This was sent in error and is not applicable to your account. We would like to assure you that no restrictions will be placed on your account at this time.
However, we do encourage you to register for managed payments here to enable a more streamlined experience for both sellers and buyers. You can learn more about managed payments on the eBay Seller Centre.

probably because you are Canadian listing in us dollars on .com , they are not ready for you.. Did you receive notice that you where required to sign up..??

Oh ya, I received a final reminder this morning with the threat of not being able to list after July.15/20.
This was also part of the correction email:
This is your final reminder that your account will be enabled for managed payments starting late July, and you must complete registration no later than July 15, 2020.
Register now – it’s simple:
1. Verify your information
2. Provide a chequing account
3. Continue selling as usual

It seems like the two criteria that exempts Canadian sellers from the deadline are fee billing currency in USD or selling on .com in USD. From anecdotal postings it seems some people that fall into those groups were still receiving the sign up emails.

I never saw any threat that sellers who didn't sign up would be blocked immediately on July 15th.
I saw a warning that if you didn't sign up and you are called to enter MP that you would be delayed in listings anything until such time as you did sign up.
Since the sign up process can take several days those that are called that had not already signed up might have to deal with an interruption in their ability to list.
If you are planning on ceasing your selling activities when your number is called you don't need to register.
If you are planning on moving to MP but just want to delay it as long as possible I don't think not signing up is going to do anything for you. Your number will still come up eventually whether you have pre-registered or not.

So the sign-up deadline is only for Candian sellers that list in CDN only? Are you saying l'm receiving these emails in error?
From what reps have posted, they have no way to handle USD dollar transactions directly without conversion. Anyone falling into those groups will be in the last groups to be required to sign up as they work on a multicurrency implementation. I've seen a few sellers comment that they have received sign up emails despite this.

The other exemption I have heard is if you happen to be selling in a category like Coins & Bullion. (Not sure if the other banned categories are attached to this loophole.) You were basically on hold until they had figured out a workaround solution. Currently there are 1 million listings for US coins on dot come and 100,000 for Canadian coins on dot ca.
They are also making things difficult for US sellers that sell on dot ca. I didn't even know there was such a thing. There was seller that was advised she needed to work on moving her dot ca listings to dot com. She was thrilled because she only had 130 to go. As difficult as it is for a seller to move listings from dot com to dot ca it's just as difficult in reverse. Something I guess no one took into consideration.

They say signing up is easy. 1 2 3. Well I am on 4 5 6 7 8 9 . T
They also asking for photo ID. They say they are having problems confirming who I am. Well I am someone who have been on Ebay since 2000. You dont know me by now.
I am really not comfortable with them having almost all info about me.
Way too much info being given to a company that could get hacked at any time. They have your credit card number social insurance number, bank account number all your personal info and now a photo ID. What a score for the one who hacks Ebay

I guess you and I have different interpretations of a threat even if it is very subtle...

"I got the same email. A day after registering for Managed payments. Here we go again. Wonder how messed up this scheme will be. Every time ebay makes major changes it seems something goes sideways".
Here's another inconsistent statement from @femmefan1946 thread, from a eBay Managed Payment Specialist:
@ simeovivia0 --If you are selling in USD, you do not need to register for managed payments at this time. We’ll reach out to you when it’s time to register. -- Weekly Chat.

I got the Final Reminder email on July 14th and have not got any kind of correction message yet. I only sell in CAD as as of 12:30AM EST July 15th I can still list. We'll see what happens 24hr from now, I don't really mind if theres an interruption as this is very much a part time gig for me. (my one fear is my listings could get deleted, that would be bad)

The difference is I list in USD on eBay.COM and you list in CAD on eBay.CA. eBay Managed Payments haven't figured out how their going to deal with Canadian Sellers that list in USD on eBay.COM.
That is why I now believe I received a Correction Notice.

I still haven't received any notification of this change or any e-mails regarding sign up. If it wasn't for the forums I wouldn't have a clue what managed payments is!

This came to my email and it was a good thing too, I was already today to reduce my eBay store to a Basic & then move inventory over to my new Shopify account...
To hell with eBay and it's "Bullying" ways!
Notice also that the "Tone" has changed in there message to us.. "However, we do encourage you to register for managed payments" we "encourage you"
And, yes eBay you have "encouraged" me, you have made me realize that I need to look elsewhere and Shopify accepts PAYPAL and I control my Store and "Policies" oh and they are CANADIAN and located right here in my hometown Montreal!
Also, in Quebec, we have French Civil Law (the rest of North America uses English Civil Law) and very strong Consumer Protection Laws which state that we are not "Obliged" to sign up of "ANY" service until we have "FULL DISCLOSURE", it's just like eBay Stores they cannot charge us "Penilites" if we cancel our subscriptions.
I know that for myself I am so glad I have not signed up for this MP fiasco nor will I until I actually hear from the "sheeple" who ran through the "MP" sheeple wash.
Legally, they cannot force you to sign up early for a service you do not have all the information for "beforehand" and that is their issue, now they have to prove to us members that their payment system works, and this being eBay we all know it will be a mess just like everything eBay does...

My "correction" message came to my Yahoo email, not through the eBay message system.
Look in your email accounts!
