I just had an email from my brother in the UK, he said that mail is piling up in the sorting offices and they have been told that some mail won't arrive until February! We have sent a bunch of Christmas cards to our relatives there, not very exciting to get a Christmas card in Feb, but even worse to get a package from eBay that late.

According to Devon they are honouring lates until Dec 31, 2022 (Post 3). This was the most recent update. There is an announcement on the UK board but nothing on either ca or com. They "may" revise when/if things change. As per the additional response there may be sellers who have no choice to use nothing but canadapost in conjunction with Royal Mail so they have no back up. Most likely there are parcels on the way that are being held up.

The postal worker's union seems to be using off and on work stoppages.
Friday 9 December, Sunday 11 December, Wednesday 14 December, Thursday 15 December, Friday 23 December and Saturday 24 December 2022.
Here's the employer's stand:

Interesting that the Royal Mail, in spite of its name, is no longer a government department. Or even a Crown Corporation like Canada Post.

Oh great! I have a pkg going to the UK that I have to mail tomorrow.

The people in the UK are well aware of the problem, so I think you can just explain that because of the mail problems, the package will probably be delayed.
