Managed Payments, RICARMIC update...... I'm in???

I thought I'd start a new thread just so I only have to put this in one place....

I had an inkling when I read Tyler's response to @hlmacdon that the link might work for me now. Unfortunately I remain very concerned that those pesky "US" warnings would come to fruition and it is a catastrophic problem for me if it starts dropping items as the GTC roll over.

So I went to the payments tab on .CA and initiated the registration process.

It looks like it worked.

It did require me to include identification information. If I clicked that I didn't want to include my SIN so I had to put in either Drivers license or Passport. I put in drivers license and note, DONT put in the "-"s it wont accept them.

It also choked on my address. I live in a wee village and as a result I have both a PO Box number and my street address. It would not accept the box number. Both parts are on my bank accounts address, time will tell if that is a problem.

Once I fixed both those up, it gave me options to direct link to my bank account (I'm a TD guy) and I securely logged in and was able to select which bank account I wanted to use. It appears to have worked, I got an email advising that I authorized a PAD agreement. (So theoretically it is ok with the address without the PO Box as it is with the bank).

So far there is no micro withdrawal, I'd be surprised if it is necessary since I was logged in as me when it connected the account. I'll keep an eye out for it.

I picked CAD currency. At some point I'll have to switch my billing to be $C.

It did not ask me about the frequency of payments. Subsequent skimming makes it look like I'll get asked that after I get my first sale under MP.

So that's where it is at. I will update as I have further news.

The 6c is from a 2nd item listing fee, although I don't know now if it is a charge or a credit for one.

It won't pull from anywhere because that is the "Pre-MP" account which is the US registered one, which is now inactive. I can manually send payments but that is all, at least as far as I know. (Remember that I'm one of the lucky ones that got my registration site changed early on when it was believed that was the correct thing to do).

@ricarmic

They(eBay) should have lumped any extra similar charges together and billed weekly vs nickel and diming sellers. Because there are no guarantees that there will be funds around when these charges appear they regularly get deducted individually. These charges, depending on one's bank account could add up over the course of time. See recent news story.

Hi @lotzofuniquegoodies

I'm not sure I understand your latest, charges come in individually but they don't "come for it"/"bill it" outside accumulating funds in MP or pre MP until monthend whenever that is for a given person.

So one would only see a bank charge for fees once a month regardless of how many individual items are charged, my account has been in the negative every week after payout for a while until the next sale happens, no charges to my account. The CSR advised that pulling from the account wouldn't happen until the "monthend" payment cycle if there wasn't enough in the accumulating payment.

I think stuff like refunds etc might be immediately billed if there isn't enough in the accumlating payout, it will be rare for me to find out as I would normally have enough in the MP accumulation to cover it since my payout is weekly.

... Today I had an INR (to Mexico) from before MP days.

When I did the refund, it said fees were credited back like always (the refund was via PAYPAL as that is how the buyer paid).

The one refund I had for a shipment pre-MP had the refund to the buyer go through PayPal.  The FVF fees were refunded as credit through MP.  There was a time delay, as the fee refund was processed as a MP transaction on the monthly invoice date (I am mid-month).

@ricarmic

Maybe just my luck but in 4 months of MP I've had 4 or 5 individual charges for promotion fees + 1  charge for a listing upgrade....all  billed to my bank account. 1 credit for FVF fees (11 cents + 1 cent tax) also routed to bank. (Details described it as a billing error adjustment).

At last count 6 x 1.50 charges for going over on my basic bank account transaction fees. The concern I take issue with was in the past it was an itemized invoice of all fees/credits for the month. With MP each transaction is an invoice onto itself.

What will hopefully be the last chapter, today I got notification for the inactive US registered account that my invoice was ready with a link to open it (one can't open it from .COM "payments" because it just ports you to the .CA one).

When I opened it, it shows a credit of 83c, so the numbers I thought were charges were actually credits.

A couple more credits have been added because of INRs etc, so it will probably peak at a couple dollars or so credit.

Presumably I'm going to continue getting these credit invoices "forever" because the old US registered is inactive. At least there isn't any action required which is good news....or so one thinks, one never knows if there might be another chapter in this story yet!

Managed Payments, RICARMIC update...... I'm in???

Well there is another chapter after all!

My store is on vacation, it started vacation a while ago, but there was "payoutable" funds up until Tuesday this week because I do weekly payouts.

As you know from earlier posts, I encounter a lot of item upgrade fees of 6c per item when they roll over, so my account runs in the negative minutes after the payout.

My last payout was on Tuesday the 17th.

The total owing has been accumulating since the Tuesday payout. It's reached $11.00 $C worth and today I received notification that they'll pull the $11. from my account: "We’ll process this charge in no sooner than 3 days".

So the CSR advising that it was accumulated until monthend was incorrect.

I am not sure what deliniation is used to identify when the funds will be charged, whether it is time or $$ amount. ( tyler@ebay ) If they're only accumulating a couple of days it will mean I will have a number of these until the store reopens. At least so far they aren't being charged per item, that was my fear.

It will be a good test of pulling money out. The note advises that: "You’ll see this charge recorded by your payment provider similar to the following: EBAY*T*7753873668."

Anyway I'll add updates as I find out happens.....

Another one was initiated today but it is also 3 days from the last and just over $10 so I can't tell whether it is 3 days that it accumulates for or until it goes over $10.....

The first one I was advised of hasn't been charged to my account yet, but today is the first day it could be.

Sorry I missed this tag @ricarmic - and I'm sorry that the answer on this is, essentially, both.

The one I see mentioned the most frequently is the amount you run negative. From what I can tell the specific threshold amount varies by account (based on a number of factors I don't have access to).

If your account is below that dollar amount threshold, time is another factor. If the overall balance stays negative for a set amount of time a backup method would be charged.
