Managed Payments - Unable To Add New Chequing Account

I created a new chequing account a couple days ago. Today I spent about 1.5 hours on the phone with customer service trying to figure out how to remove the old account and add the new one. We went through a LOT of different options, but still no luck. He said he's writing up a report to send to the IT department about what is happening and eBay will get back to me - not sure if they will - so I'm posting here in case someone else had this issue and was able to resolve it.

So, has anyone tried changing their Bank Account successfully?

Thanks!

Were you trying to remove the old account first? If so that is likely the problem. It might also be that it is impossible to remove the old account info but possible to add a new one and set it as the account to use.

It's similar to PayPal, although I never tried to remove a bank account I do have a bunch of long expired credit cards on file with PayPal and as far as I know there is no way to remove the old out of date cards (not that I ever really tried).

When I tried removing the one that is currently in my account is said that I need to add one first.  I went to add one but when I get to my bank the only chequing account that is showing is the one that I currenlty have on ebay.  The new one that I add is not showing on the list.

Which bank?

Has there been ANY activity on that new account? Perhaps you need to "activate" it by making a deposit or transferring funds from your other account (I'm just guessing).

In any event it sounds like a bank issue not an MP issue.

When I signed up last summer I did not use the bank login method to verify so I manually entered the routing and account number plus ID (perhaps SIN or Drivers Licence, I can't remember which).

Thanks recped.

This is very annoying. I made a deposit couple days ago just to see if that would work but it is still doing the same nonsense.

I guess I'll book a day and call the bank 'cause their wait times are ridiculous...

Hello,

I had the same problem as you are having now. I contacted E-Bay and the service rep I had deleted the old info that was in there from before and I entered the new info and the prblem was solved.

No problems ever since.   Good Luck
