My terrible experience with store subscription

Hey there. Sorry for the long book and if my english is not all clean this is my 2nd language. I just wanted to share a bit of my experience after only one week with my first time store subscription. I felt like this needed to be exposed... For a paid service, and high priced, my experience of it is totally unnaceptable. At the moment i'm not sure if i'm getting scammed or if i am the most unlucky eBay store subscriber on the planet... Half the features are broken, and all i'm told is to wait... While this is now i'm paying... And my subscription runned out one week already

 

It starts with my categories, the BASIC of a store: broken. I started my week by creating categories, adding listings and they were not showing up. I wasted my time and tried many things, deleting, remaking, etc, waited many days, they are still not showing up. I contacted support and the only thing i'm told is that i'm added to a list and to check a link they provided to me about the features health status (all showing there is no problem...). Support telling me to stay tuned about the updates there, while there is literally nothing to look at. Everything there says everything is working fine. A totally worthless support, literally no answer to give

 

Secondly. I can't create a banner link to my markdown sales on my store. Again: broken. Buyers click, there's nothing. I create markdown sales but i cannot link them on my store... I'm looking like an idiot to anyone shopping on my store, i provide links to my sales showing no listings in them. Hurts reputation, hurts visibility. Someone seeing this might just leave my store and miss my markdown sales. What i'm told by support? You are added to a list. Wait

 

The best part for the end. I do not have my store FVF discount! I pay a service where i'm supposed to have a discount on fees (11.5%), and i noticed this morning that eBay is still charging me 12.35% on all my sales since i'm subscribed. What if i never noticed? I contaced support again, and even worst, i'm provided wrong informations. Support told me that my fees were correct... Luckily i'm doing my homeworks. They provided a .com information. I understand there is mistakes, but i overpaid for one week and still overpay 0.85% fees right now and support telling me my fees are correct... What if i did not noticed here again? That's really scammy.

 

Again, my only option given is to wait..

 

I feel left to myself, i feel scammed, no ressources, no technical support. Support just tell me to wait every time while i do not have access to many features i'm paying for. All this is just totally unnaceptable... This is just too much. And i'm just subscribed since 1 week, who knows whats the next broken thing i'll discover in the next days... I noticed this morning a markdown sale that was supposed to end one day ago was still running... May be one more issue to add

 

I just can't believe this is the kind of paid service a big business like eBay provide. This was totally unexpected

Yikes, I don't have a store subscription so I can't confirm/deny that any of these features ARE working properly on my end, but that's definitely a frustrating situation.

 

I know tyler@ebay   has responded to a couple of your posts, but I would repost this on the weekly chat when it comes up so there's another record of it.

 

Every time you contact support ask them if you can get a refund for this month's store fees, or a one month credit for future store fees; you shouldn't be paying for a service that isn't working properly.

It's been a while but I think that you get the store fvf on listings that you started after you opened your store.

Could explain the fees situation, even it would not makes much sense to me since it's a sale fees. Rate should be calculated at the moment of the sale. Support should have told me that too if it's the case, instead of leaving me in the dark. We'll see if i receive an email in the next days as the tech said

I think the same. And it's worst than just paying for something not working, their glitches drained my time and i have no real answers from support, this is highly tilting

Regarding the Store issues with Categories and banner, this is something that I started seeing reports on just in the past few days. Seems to only be affecting some sellers and will probably get fixed relatively soon.

 

As PJ mentioned the reduced FVF's only apply to new listings or GTC listings that have renewed AFTER subscribing to the Store. That is how it has worked since forever. Note that when you cancel a Store the discount continues on existing listings until they roll over.

The transcript is helpful. We can see what you were told and not what you think you were told.

I am bemused that the eBay staffer did not realize that you were listing on dotCA.  Was that the first time you had mentioned it?

Also interesting, you have often mentioned that English is not your first language, but your grammar is better than the staffer.

It does confirm the frustrations many buyers and sellers are routinely seeing/hearing dealing with CS for specific situations when the only alternatives are Twitter/Facebook. Methods not everyone really prefers.

I started a markdown sale for 1 listing 10% off this morning, i just noticed the 10% off is not applied to the listing. And as found on another thread i made, we can't end a sale on its first day, so i'm stucked waiting until tomorrow to fix it. Really i'm not sure if i have a single feature working properly. It's just waiting over waiting over waiting, i'm burned to try to find fixes when literally everything is broken

If I recall correctly you mentioned recently in a post that you were just recently seeing "if evaluated today" you would be a top rated and didnt see your banner yet? Has that evaluation actually happened? becasue if not the 10% won't show up until after that has happened and been applied to your account. Just something I remember reading recently not sure when.

 

Categories - I havent played with mine in a long while so not sure if mine are or are not working properly, but whatever I set up moons ago does show on my listings.

I see some of your items are on sale right now, I clicked on 2 diff listings one was 8% and another 5% so that seems to be working now?

 

Yes only one glitched, i could start other sales normally. Was not a permanent glitch like the others i stated in my first post

Do you guys have a source of this still being an actual thing? I did not saw this anywhere yet in eBay policies. I also don't understand why support did not told me that too if it's the case. It does not makes much sense to me but if it's true i guess i would need to end and relist my whole listings to exploit the system...

Another issue with stores is your store link may or may not be currently working properly. The issue with store link was reported to me a short time ago. At the time it seemed to be intermittent. Now you will most likely see one of the following results....depending on the seller. (Note: Feedback profile store link does work. Store Link works from the seller hub page but this is not what potential buyers would be using. As always, results may vary.)

 

 

1. It works with no problem

2. Clicking on it does not cause anything to happen.

3. Clicking on it gives you an error message. See below.

 

 

Not sure how long this has been going for, but not helpful from a traffic sales perspective. All page links should work at all times because this is what we are paying for.

Just an update on this thread to say that literally nothing have been fixed. Banner link is still broken. 2 weeks from my sub beginning and i still can't use the basic categories features

 

Worse i never received any e-mail as said here:

I noticed my fees are 11.5% on some items and 12.35% on others now so what have been said here about fees seems true. I found more answers from community members than the support

 

So i resume, i pay $30/month for a broken service, and all i have for one issue is a lie about a follow of my situation. For another, a totally worthless link provided showing healthy services  https://www.ebay.com/sts and being told to follow there for updates (they really treat you like a fool)...

 

They just don't care or have no answers to provide. They take your money and that's it. eBay store is legit a scam

@rocketscollectibles - I heard back from the tech team that they were not able to find any open or active markdown sales (which is incorrect). I am working on helping them understand what is going on, but I went through your store and no longer see the banner for the sale, are you still seeing that on your end?

Thank you for the update. I removed the banner after a few days because i thought it was not good for my store image to leave a broken link there. I still have markdown sales i added it back

 

If you have news for store categories not showing up too it would be appreciated. Support gave me no update and just leaving me in the dark, I'm half way in my montly subscription and i still can't use the feature. I just deleted them and created a new one to see (number: 39585688011 w/ 10 listings in it). Still not showing up for the moment

 

If ever you have any answer too about my last post on my promotion summary showing $0 sales while i did a few promotion sales, at this point i'm not sure what are glitchs and what i misunderstand

 

I'm sorry about all the madness in this thread, i'm having an hard time with this subscription, and pay for it

 

One last question, can we request a refund in a case like mine where the service i'm paying for is half broken?

I'll keep exposing how trash is this subscription. It's like paying a luxury price for a service at a beta level

Just to keep update that i'll remove the banner actually. Can't leave a broken link on my store page indefinitely while seeing how inactive is the support to work on fixes. Won't take the bad image to potential customers while eBay is to blame, i'm not a paid beta tester

Still a technical issue. Ticket has been created. There is the possibility  it may be happening to anyone that has updated their store name in the past several years. They are looking into that also.
