I had quite a bit of money in my Paypal account so I have been using it for shipping labels. Today however it can no longer be used unless the transaction was a Paypal one, mine are all eBay.
I was on the phone with Paypal for about 35 minutes before they discovered that.
I then tried snap ship, what a complicated procedure. Phoned them and they tried to work out my shipping label, they told me to use a different browser, which I did. After an hour, I finally got it when they took over my computer.
There has to be an easier way than this!!! Is eBay shipping easier than this?

I use Shippo. It is very simple to use, eBay orders are directly imported to the platform, and the funds are debited directly from my PayPal account.
Snap Ship doesn't have an option to pay by PayPal unfortunately.
I only use PayPal directly when I ship through NetParcel (which does now have Canada Post integrated with it, but I'm typically purchasing postage through UPS when using NetParcel).

eBay shipping label process is very easy to use...I have used it many times.
My other smaller, lesser known selling site still uses PayPal as processor for seller payments, but not only can I use that PP account for shipping labels for those transactions, I am able to create PayPal shipping labels for other non PayPal transactions via this method:
paypal.com/shipnow
as per pjcdn2005 instructions: "You have to type in paypal.com/shipnow and then sign in. Then when you click on paypal shipping it will you give the option of doing a label for an item that wasn't paid by Paypal."

mrdutch have you tried doing that today, I could only get netparcel, no Paypal shipping option. I just tried again with the link given, still no Paypal label option.

As dinomite sales has mentioned I also use Shippo and am happy with them. All the item information is carried over from eBay and payment is processed through Paypal (every $100 or one week which ever comes first).
From eBay you still click purchase shipping - this leads to the page that has eBay labels BUT ALSO (and you have to look because it is a small font!) "Go to Shippo" and you fill in your size and weight info there, also it automatically uploads tracking (if you are using a trackable service) to your eBay orders.

sorry, no I hadn't... but just found out PayPal no longer offers any option except to use netParcel which I will not sign up for, so I suppose closing my PayPal accounts is now something to consider....

I guess I will have to do the same, although msau says he uses Paypal to pay his Shippo payments,

For myself, I am tired of being forced to sign up for this shipping company or that shipping company, and I will not sign up for Shippo = Shippo is no better than direct shipping through Canada Post, so for me no more of this nonsense....I am a very small seller(an occassional sale here and there does not warrant the hassles of signing up for these other shipping companes), so I'll just deal directly with Canada Post.

With my transfer to MP for payment processing I've not used PayPal for that purpose since April 2021. At that time my PayPal balance was fairly substantial, I decided to transfer my CAD balance out but kept the USD funds there thinking I'd spend those dollars. As it turned out that wasn't happening so in September last year I converted what was left to CAD and transferred everything out of there. A month or two later my PayPal account was limited, I've absolutely no idea why they did that. To restore service they're demanding I provide them with my drivers license and other documentation to prove my identity. Thinking all of this a bit intrusive for a disused, basically dormant account I decided to just close it. Shouldn't be difficult to do, right? According to the polite customer service agent that's not the case. Even though there are absolutely NO outstanding issues of any sort I am not able to close it while the account is limited.
Off topic now, but I'm wondering if the sudden draining of your PayPal balances is what triggered the limitation on your PayPal account. For what it's worth, the ID requirement doesn't sound all that different than what Adyen/Managed Payments requires for security purposes.

I went into PayPal/ship now today to print a label and I was directed to net parcel too. I just had to enter my Canada Post small business number in order to get started. But I decided I didn't feel like copying and pasting the shipping info so I ended up printing an eBay label instead. Net parcel looked quite straightforward though and the payment would have come out of PP.

The way I see it, if using netParcel, you are no longer using Canada Post and therefor you are having to connect with other carriers to where you would also be required to drop off your packages...
netParcel provides their services through UPS, FedEx, Purolator and DHL, etc....... not so convenient as just dropping off at my neighborhood Canada Post outlet...

As I mentioned, I had to enter my Canada Post small business number so you can print a Canada Post label through that platform and drop off the parcel whereever you normally drop them off. The only difference between now and last week is that before you printed a CP label through the PP platform rather than netparcel and now CP is printed directly through netparcel.

NetParcel has Canada Post rates/integration now. Started maybe a month ago. Maybe that's why they've discontinued the option to use the paypal.com/shipnow functionality.
