I just printed off my Monthly Sales Summary for November and the Payments Received Total includes the US Sales Tax.
There is also no separate US Sales Tax Section included in any of PayPal's Monthly Sales summaries.
I'm going to have to separate the US Sales Tax on every sale that's applicable and subtract it from the gross total for every month.
I know this is eBay's responsibility but PayPal should not have included the US Sales Tax in our Monthly Gross Sales Total!
I know this has been discussed in length but I just find it very annoying and poorly implemented on eBay's part....

On PayPal's Financial Summary Report under FEES they should have added US Sales Tax. This should have been applicable on all Canadian PayPal accounts.
FEES:
1. Payment Fees
2. Refunded Fees
3. Disbursements Fees
4. Chargeback Fees
5. Account Fees invoice
6. Other Fees
7. US Sales Tax
(or included the US Sales Tax under 6. Other Fees)

Not sure how it shows on the PayPal packing slip, but with Shippo it includes the tax as part of the total without showing a line item with the associated state tax/percent amount. Makes it look very poorly thought out.

Yes, very poorly implemented on eBay's part.... It would have been nice if PayPal would add a US Sales Tax section to their Monthly Sales Reports.

That it appears on my Paypal account doesn't bother me much.
I keep my records myself and just added a new column for the tax, since it is clearly identified on my customer's payment notice.
What really annoys me is that although we don't keep a penny of the taxes, PP includes them in our total and we pay fees of 3.4% on them.
Granted it was only 22cents in fees over all my accounts, but it's the principle.
Who am I kidding, it's the money!

I agree it's annoying to pay fees on the US Sales Tax. It also appears on our PayPal invoices and is included in our gross monthly sales numbers but PayPal has not acknowledged the US Sales Tax by having a separate monthly US tax total section or category added to our Monthly Sales Reports and Financial Summary Reports.
There is absolutely no reason why PayPal should not have included this as part of the reports and it creates more accounting work for Canadian Sellers.

It was eBay's decision to put the Internet Sales Tax onto the customer's invoice.
It was eBay's fault that they did not consider the fallout for their customers (the seller whose PP payments very temporarily rose) and discuss with Paypal how to handled their fees.
I wonder how eBay is handling this on Managed Payments and with Ayden?

From what I understand, sellers on Managed Payments currently do not pay fees on that tax. I don't think sellers see it at all as the money originally goes to ebay and then to the sellers accounts...its not in the sellers account at all. At least that's how I understand it to work....I could be wrong.

Let me put on my tinfoil hat here-- eBay allows PP to charge fees on passthrough sales tax but miraculously their own Managed Payments does not charge that fee.
