I sell on .com, so my listings are in US$. I have a potential Canadian buyer that doesn't want to pay in US. I tried to send an offer and change the designation, but I can't do it. She doesn't want the price to come off her credit card in US. Any suggestions?

Simple answer, list the Item on .ca in the CAD equivelent to your US Price. To avoid the dreaded duplicate listing thing end the .com one first.
Of course in Managed Payments IF you are set up to receive US Dollars then you the seller bears the cost of conversion. If your MP account is already set to CAD then there is no conversion and both sides save a bit of money.

The charge will come off her card in loonies. The card will automatically change the currency.
I f you are listing on dotCOM and she is looking at it on dotCA, she will see the cost in both currencies.
If she buys it, the amount in loonies will probably be slightly different than what she sees because currency exchange rates change constantly.
If she can't understand that, the sale will not go well.
Alternatively, if you really really want the sale, you can relist the item on dotCA, the price will be in loonies, and you can use Calculated Shipping to pinpoint the exact cost she pays for shipping instead of the approximated Flat Rate you use for dotCOM.
If you decide on the latter, you must remove the dotCOM listing first. Then list on dotCA. I hope you keep pictures and descriptions on file to speed this up because you can't transfer between sites.

And if she's so all-fired patriotic, why is she shopping on dotCOM in the first place?
Can we spell hypocrite, folks?

If the person is serious, you can also create an exclusive listing, with immediate payment required, on .ca. You can end the .com listing if you wish, and if they do not come through in a day relist it.
Exclusives worl well with my audio and turntable parts as folks are looking for very specific stuff, like a front foot for a Model XXX turntable!

I THINK, that the seller pays the currency exchange, not the buyer. Can someone confirm this because I had a buyer request to pay in Cdn. Dollars instead of US a couple of days ago too.

How about the seller? Is he being patriotic listing on .com instead of .ca?
Seems reasonable to me to ask a Canadian seller if the sale could be done all in Canadian Dollars, it saves money for BOTH parties.

Or, if she's using PayPal to facilitate the transaction, PayPal could convert the currency, depending on how the buyer's account is set up.

No, the buyer always pays for the currency exchange.

This is a new seller, she was just concerned that the US dollars would be in her bank and not sure what that would mean. I explained the situation and she purchased. I felt it was a genuine concern and I wanted to give her an accurate reply.

I list on .CA and sell a lot to my American buyers. I haven't run across any problems selling to both our and their countries. Maybe I am missing something, but I list on the Cdn. site and have sent things to Europe on .ca And just as an aside, MP has been working well for me.

The selling is smooth enough.
The buyer is concerned that she won't be able to pay in USD since she is in Canada.
