So when will you re-open your store? What do you think is going to happen with the postal dispute?
I sure would like to open my store, I am hoping that the union will vote on the last offer, but I am afraid they may just go out on strike and it will last a long time, unless they get legislated back to work.

I opened mine on Friday last week when they said overtime ban (was closed 4 days before that).
I had a new product come out I wanted to list ASAP to actually get sales (it dies down after a few days in the sports card world and your stuck holding the bag). I extended my handling time to like 30 days, more to allow myself a longer window if the strike goes to a lock out etc.
If there is a lock out, I will close again and deal with whatever mess happens lol
So far as few people have gotten the mail I sent lettermail and left feedback from all the stuff I mailed Monday, and tracked stuff left the country and or made it to its destination in Canada. So the mails still moving thankfully (just a bit slower I feel in some cases)

Never closed mine, because mail is moving as usual.

Just like last Fall, 2018 and the one before that, never closed (on Time Away from May 2 - 16 but that was because I was away for two weeks with no access to email or eBay).
As far as the disruption of Canada Post, whatever happens it will be over by June 20th one way or another.

Thanks everyone, I have taken myself off a 30 day time away and have now put a 15 day time away with items showing. Let hope there will be no issues.

Although I do not have an eBay store, I resumed listing yesterday despite the fact the estimated delivery times to the USA remain unrealistically too short (even adjusting the handling time to 7 days made no difference to the estimated delivery times to the USA!) so I revised all the shipping methods to get a more reasonable estimated delivery timeframe>still not ideal but better...>eBay can't be bothered to fix that either!

I'm not reopening my store just yet either. I'm in the same boat, afraid they will go on strike and it might be a while before it's resolved or their legislated back to work leaving packages in limbo. Having packages in limbo makes a risk for INRs if buyers get tired of waiting for their items.
On June 10 I'll have to go off time away for an hour before I can reset it, but there's only 206 items right now so I'm not thinking there's significant chance of me selling in that time. The dot com store is open because I'm using Stallion and have turned off shipping to Canada until this is resolved.

I never closed it, why would I?!
So much ado and wasted time on this nonsense.
My buyers are buying, my items are arriving, and if Canada Post goes on holiday, so will I, as I have done since 2001.

I basically have. Slowly relisting the items I closed so that I don't end up with everything as Newly Listed on the same day every month for the next year.
Sales are good.
We'll see about delivery.
I'm using Tracked USA for most shipments. Lettermail for domestic. Which is my normal practice.

I'm thinking of putting everything back to Canada Post. I switched it all over to UPS mid-May and have made zero sales.
It's definitely a risk though. Anyone saying "business as usual" or "mail moving as normal, I never changed a thing": the union could change the strike terms or get locked out at any moment. You're taking a risk by shipping with Canada Post - it's up to you what your risk tolerance on the matter is.

Summer Solstice!
More relevant, Parliament summer recess starts on June 21st

So if Parliament is on recess then they won't be taking any action to legislate them back to work?
I'm actually kind of worried about that... if they don't legislate them back to work if they can strike all through summer.

we are still 3 weeks away from June 21st, so time enough for things to be sorted...

The risk is that every order you send out has approx. 2 or so weeks to get to customers. If there is a lockout at any point while it is still in transit, the customer could open an INR. eBay might allow for extensions on INRs with tracking.
I haven't followed closely what eBay has stated they will provide for the sellers as support, so you should track down any blogs or releases by eBay before deciding, but my gut would say that if you think using UPS is costing you sales you are probably good to go back to Canada Post.
For lettermail, I'd consider only offering Expedited Lite as sort of a middle ground. It's cheaper than UPS and tracked, so you might be covered by eBay if there is a work stoppage.
