Whatever happened to the starter store level they announced years ago?? I've never had the option for it. Would love to have access to some of the store benefis but apparently eBay doesn't want my money...

Possibly it was just wishful hoping that it would be something we would see on ca. There are small perks with having a store. Option to categorize what works for you. The quarterly coupon for supplies. A slight discount on FVF's. You might want to consider opening/investing in a store when you get closer to 250 active listings. And then decide if it is a better investment to go month to month or sign up a year at a time for the additional savings. Current store options below for ca(3) and com(5). I store per customer.(ID)

Looks like it never happened on .ca although it's still a thing on .com.

Taking a wild guess, I'd say that those at eBay Canada decided that a flurry of Zero Insertion Fee promotions would work better for this site in 2019 and Canadian sellers wanting the benefit of a Starter store could list on .com instead.

It is just available on .com and I doubt that they will ever have it on .ca.

To be honest, I don't think having a starter store offers very good value. The fvf fees are the same as if you didnt have a store at all. You get 250 free listings without a store and 250 listings if you have a starter store. So you don't get more free listings with a starter store.

I believe it was included on either 2019 or 2020 in one of the seasonal announcements. As coming attraction. Strange to announce and then not fulfill!! If you check out the perks with US stores they do "seem" to include the same access to free listings. Unsure if they mirror ca 100%. See below.

Canada: Best for

a)List at least 1,000 items per month in a fixed price format, or list high value items to take advantage of lower Final Value Fees.

b)List at least 10,000 items per month in a fixed price format.

c) List at least 25,000 items per month in a fixed price format.

USA: Best for

a)Best for sellers who have a handful of products and want a storefront to brand and promote their business.

b)Unlock more zero insertion fee listings, Final Value Fee discounts, and a coupon for eBay-branded shipping supplies each quarter.

c)If you have an extensive product assortment, a Premium Store subscription gives you substantially more zero insertion fee listings.

d)For high volume sellers who have an extensive product catalog or are running a business that would benefit from dedicated customer support.

e)For high volume sellers who have an extensive product catalog or are running a business that would benefit from dedicated customer support.

Yes when it was originally announced I thought I'd give it a go since I don't sell enough to warrant any other level of store subscription, but when .CA didn't make good on the idea within a reasonable timeframe, I knew we were SOL (again!)....so I shall remain as am and carry on with my 250 listings per month. I still have about 1000 items that I alternate over the months, but sales aren't what they were years ago thusly my needs here on eBay are minimal as I continue to slowly sort & donate items locally... and slowly phase out my eBay selling...

To me the value is in being able to run limited time promotions and email subscribers.
