Received this email today and found it somewhat insulting... 50.00 off shipping supplies for a job well done.
Now if eBay would give me a 50.00 coupon to purchase anything on their site that would be something to be happy about.
eBay thinks their smart giving sellers a shipping supplies coupon that they pay pennies on the dollar for the supplies and receive free advertising.
Nothing changes....
Now more than ever, you're bringing customers comfort by sending them exactly what they need, straight to their door. Your commitment to keeping your store open inspired us to give you a little extra support. After all, we're in this together!
Please use code THANKSALOT for $50 off your next order of eBay shipping supplies.

i Agree, and what is worse, you can't use this coupon with your store coupon, only 1 coupon at a time may be used..
And we are paying tax, now on our orders, the coupon doesn't count towards tax..
Thanks ebay.. for the same dangling carrot..

Somewhat insulting is an understatement!!

You should be grateful.
eBay is more thankful to you than I.
I get better dollar value at the local dollar store.

I guess I don't get a "well done", no email

"eBay is more thankful to you than I"
I believe the $ value is based on your store level. I have a Premium Store Subscription.
I'm assuming you have a Basic Store Subscription hence the lower $ value coupon .

"I guess I don't get a "well done", no email"
Do you have a Store Subscription?
If you do have a store, I'm sure your email will come in the next day or two...

I am not a big fan of the eBay supply store. Everything is very overpriced. I always use the coupon, but it would be so much better to get a $70 eBay credit that isn't tied to one store.
If eBay wants to compete with Amazon, it would be smarter for eBay to sell their shipping supplies at a more competitive rate to store subscribers. Getting the eBay logo on each package would be free marketing. Not to mention, the amount of boxes that get re-used by customers. Can you imagine how many eBay sales must go out in Amazon branded boxes?
Also, what logic is there in putting sellers at a disadvantage by negatively impacting their value supply chain? Again, unless this eBay supply store is a bigger money maker than I am giving it credit for, wouldn't the company realize more long term value by using it as a means for free marketing and supporting sellers? (Successful sellers = more money for eBay in the long term via fees, and sellers sticking around.)
A popular local big box store sells very high quality size 0 mailers for 20 cents each before tax. The same mailers at the eBay store are almost 48 cents. Aside from the eBay logo, the quality is exactly the same. If I'm sending out 200 items a month, that's $672 a year that I save by not marketing eBay. Because of this, I only use my eBay branded coupon for mailers in sizes that I don't use often.
There is another store I won't name (too lazy to see if this is against the rules) that sells actual eBay poly bags for 17 cents each. (....and they might even pay the guy who puts them in your mail box...sorry that's too big of a hint.) The eBay shipping store sells similar mailers for three times that price.
Granted, eBay probably makes a nice profit off of their shipping supplies because a lot of people are casual sellers who aren't going to shop around for shipping supplies - but I wonder if that is worth losing out on the marketing potential of getting eBay branded shipping supplies into the hands of every seller.

If eBay is truly thankful to me for staying open and providing 5 star service to all my customers during a pandemic than I would think they could come up with something better then just another shipping supplies coupon that I never use.

Eh, I'm happy to have it over nothing. The shipping supply store is way overpriced but with a coupon like this the bubble mailers are cheaper than anywhere else.

I've found this hollow promises motif isnt just stuff like this, its almost everything....all these endless missives from every corporation under the sun that wants my money about "how much we care" and "what we are doing to help you" and I do a bit of research into what they are providing, and its a joke, a complete waste of time....almost like, why even bother, if you are going to do that little? I have to say - not intending to turn this political, I'm just stating my opinion based on my own experience - I'm really impressed with how Trudeau has been handling this. He's doing what he needs to be doing and is staying out of the press apart from his press briefings.

I second that, the Trudeau Government has done an excellent job with supporting Canadians needs during the Covid-19 pandemic.

OH_OH
no no no... ebay has never explained why they nibble on the shipping cost that vary, depending on FVF's category. ethics, ehtics, Violation but who can do about it? Fixed percentage would be nice for a start and then decide what to do with dropping FVFs.
oh, one more thing.. nobody uses Reserve Price as it is outragously expensive. calculated shipping... no seller uses it.

I've had a store for many years!

...an insult and a joke, a $50 coupon for overpriced eBay packaging, plus taxes. I have more excess feeBay packaging that I know what to do with. I never use that "Free" packaging for any off-site sales, I use my own branded wrapping.
If they gave us a credit of $50.00 on our FEES or a coupon to spend as we wish, it would say so much more about eBay, they are only giving free "tat" as it costs them less "out of pocket" to give branded packaging (they win both ways, less cost to them and free advertising for THEM)?
Just another reason to continue building my Shopify store, blog, and own Website as I transition/reduce my footprint on this endlessly broken site and the corporation hogs running it into the ground. A downgrade to a Basic Store will be next I think, as the economy in the US is in tatters, and a return of COVID19 this fall will most likely be the nail in the coffin for many Americans and Canadians too...
Paying off all that personal debt will be the monster over the next few years, not "shopping".
Heck, I get more requests and offers to purchase from shoppers and sellers on my own Website than I do here nowadays and I use Google Analytics to see all the details. And, if I say to them they could sell their items on eBay, they usually reply "I do not use eBay anymore" how many of you have had ex-members contact you to tell you that. I have had more than I can keep count off...

Does anyone know if that is US$50 or Can$50?

..no he has not, the homeless, the elderly.
He has only gone after the "vote", poor people do not vote they are too busy trying to survive.
Basic Incomes would have been a "good job" and what the Liberal Platform stands for...
He HAS FAILED and the return of COVID19 this fall will prove that...
