Trying to buy from UK - seller has taken off block but eBay says no buying!

Seller has allowed me to buy from Canada and says he has removed block. I told him to add my ID to his Buyer Exemption List but still won't allow me to buy. Does he have to do anything else to let me buy? Does it take a while to change after submitting? Help, don't want to lose my item (and no, its not available in Canada).

It's been a while since I'm encountered that issue, but if the seller also has immediate payment required as an option the system can be kind of wonky.

It sounds like the seller has added you to the exempt list, but if immediate payment is required and Canada is still blocked that will block you.

Yikes! Ebay allowed me to buy (maybe and sort of) but won't let me actually pay for the item until the seller sends me a revised invoice. I think this is because he wasn't able to quote actual shipping costs until he goes to the post office. We did agree on approx. S&H because it would ship small pkts international and we both checked the Royal Mail site and agreed it would be close.

So it seems that ebay.UK won't allow any purchases to be made without a firm shipping cost in the listing or won't let me actually purchase until the shipping is shown in an invoice. 

Has anyone run into this before?

Unless the seller has a block on your country or your id, they you purchase the item.

You can't pay unless the seller has specified shipping cost anywhere in the world.  That's fairly recent.

Got it paid for now. What a learning experience, seeing what a buyer sometimes has to go through! I've never bought from an International seller who did not sell to Canada before. Anyway, I found out that I had actually bought the items but could not pay until I rec'd the invoice with the actual shipping cost specified. However, it was not explained very well by eBay/PayPal and was quite confusing trying to complete the purchase. I've been buying and selling here since '05 so I can imagine what it is like sometimes for a newbie.

Between the seller and myself we must have exchanged a dozen or so emails! I think his first time shipping out of the UK. Does us sellers good to be on the opposite side for a change!

UK sellers are lovely on the whole.  I buy a lot from the UK and the items are amazing as well.

Your experience isn't unusual for any part of the world, and IMO transactions between the US and Canada are the most challenging.

It sounds like you were determined to buy your item, and on ebay it often takes determination on the buyer's part to complete the transaction.

They don't make it easy to spend your money here................. :).
