Would someone explain coupons please?

I am probably way behind the times, but I keep seeing "send coupon" and I have no idea where I would get a coupon and what it means.

Hi Triber, I think you have to go into your promotions in seller hub and make up a coupon for $$ or a percentage off and then you can send that to your buyer when they make a purchase. I guess they apply it to their next purchase from you. I've never done it myself so i don't really know the exact way of doing this. Maybe someone else will be able to explain it better.

Thanks, I guess the seller has to buy them, I didn't know if eBay has coupons we could use.
