I know someone here will have the answer.
I had a coupon for C $70.00 for eBay shipping supplies.
I bought an item valued at C $69.18 but was charged an extra C $5.07 for it.
What's that all about?

Maybe that's for the tube of KY Jelly they now send along with the oh so reasonably priced packing supplies to Canadian sellers?

I just noticed that they've valued the coupon at C $64.11 instead of C $70.00.
I wonder if that has something to do with changes in the rate of exchange.
Very Sloppy!

Emailed eBayshippingsupplies, and they told me to put that jelly to good use.
Received a long answer along with multiple screen shots which have nothing to do with the issue at hand ............ typical Conway double talk.
Didn't even try to present alternative facts. Just tried to shut me up with volumes of irrelevant information.

Shocking. Absolutely shocking I tellz ya

Just to follow this up with the conclusion.
Definitely not worth $5 to correct the issue, but as frustrating as heck trying to get an American to grasp the situation.
PP kicked me back $20 because they get it.
I'm pretty sure that eBayshippingsupplies is using old rates of exchange to value our coupons.
That means that the way we get billed and the way our coupons get valued isn't C $X.
Instead: The way our coupons get valued is coupon value as it was in American dollars at some point in the past when they did their calculations.
In other words, the rate of exchange they use is fixed rather than fluid the way it is in real life.
That means that coupons aren't valued at $X. They're valued at whatever C $X converted to in $A when they fixed the value.
Nothing I could say to make this guy get it.

Hi Silvie! Did you buy from the Canadian store or the USA store?
My coupon says it is worth $105 $C. I'm assuming as long as I buy from the Canadian store, all is well....
Or am I wrong?
We can only buy from the Canadian store. When you try to buy from the US store you get blocked because they don't ship here.
Either this isn't happening for everyone, or..........
Most people don't notice what they're doing because purchases aren't close enough to the limit.
Since my item was just over $69 and my coupon was valued at $70 I noticed.

Oops. Math is not my forte, and when I thought about it further I realized I had it wrong (above).
The issue is with the way they're valuing our Canadian coupons.
Mine was valued at just over C $64 instead of C $70. They should be leaving the value of the coupon static at C $70 but they must be varying it with the current rate of exchange.
Other must have noticed this as well?

Thanks for your experiences with the ebay store purchase on supplies.
My question was if I had to pay any brokerage fee + extra taxes upon delivery.
I have been advised by some helpful contributors to this forum that NO IMPORT FEES or TAXES will be assessed to me.
Even the store employee sent me a reply that confirmed this.
However, they still have that blurb in their listings that say there may be additional charges upon delivery.
The store had informed me that they'll get their technical staff to remove that statement.
Should take them no more than 5 minutes to fix.
Many weeks have elapsed & the statement is still there.
There is still a good chance that I'll have to pay some delivery person brokerage + taxes.
If it came down to a dispute, I think I would lose the case because of the statement.
And even if I did win the case, I would lose lots of time trying to explain my case to ebay.
My conclusion is a Lose-Lose Situation for me to go ahead with a purchase.
Just not worth my time to go ahead to do the purchase with my ebay coupon, as I will only be receiving a couple of rows of tape for my cost of about $2 (or maybe $4) if sylviebee's comments are correct.

I have never had to pay import fees on my shipping supplies. Has anyone?
Also, if you order your item and they do try to ding you for fees, you can just refuse the shipment and you'll be right back where you started from.
If they don't ask for extra fees you'll have your item.
(Oops, I was typing while ric was posting his reply. So it looks like it could happen.)
P.S.: Also, if they bill you fees you could ask that they hold the item for you at your depot and then pick it up if the seller promises to reimburse as he did for ric. above.

I have to be honest that based on what one reads in their feedback I expected a big problem and I was expecting the worst, however I received very timely, professional, and appropriate responses which surprised me!
Not me. In relation to the problem I posted about above they simply won't admit that there is something wrong with their setup and continue to send messages denying that the fault is theirs.
I spoke with PP and the reason they gave me an extra $15 was by way of apology for the unprofessional behaviour of the folks at the shipping supply store.
PP saw the problem in a few seconds.
Huh? I had a coupon for $70, bought an item valued at $69 (plus change) and was billed an extra $5.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that there's a problem.

As I remotely recall, I believe you wrote in an earlier message that you were dinged brokerage fees, but were reimbursed later.
I may be wrong, but I think you did mention also that you still had to pay the small amount of "import taxes".
But because you were so glad that your brokerage fees were repaid to you, you didn't bother to ask about the extra import taxes.
