thank you for your assistance with this, I'm genuinely surprised it got resolved for myself and a few others.  I hope the remaining folks get helped as well, but in the meantime is there some feedback form or whatever I can use to thank you for the actual help?  I already did the 'helpful' click on your resolution posts which you mentioned earlier is helpful to you.

Hi Tyler,

Thanks for fixing this up.  Coupon appeared today.  Wasn't able to see how much it was for, so called in to phone support.  After a little confusion it was all worked out

Re: "Sell To Buy" promo ($50 value) until 11/17

Yeah, me too I made that mistake as it said it had a remaining balance. It's a real misrepresentation! Fortunately, the balance was just $1 for me. So if you buy an item that is less than your coupon amount (shipping excluded), try adding 2 items instead or you will loose the balance. Woman Frustrated

Hi @that_pug - that's really sweet of you! There's no 'survey' process for my job like you'd get when you call in or contact CS on social media, but I appreciate the Helpful. 🙂

I'm just glad we could get it sorted for you (eventually), and I'm sorry that it was such a headache.

Hi @insylum - I'm sorry, I don't have a way for you to recoup that amount, as coupons that are used to redeem an amount less than the full value of the coupon are forfeited.

Also, for anyone else reading this, you can use the coupon on more than one item, but only within a single transaction. So use the shopping cart and load it up!

Re: "Sell To Buy" promo ($50 value) until 11/17

Just got this Email, thought it would be funny for others to read.

" Thanks for your patience while we looked into your participation in the recent promotions further.

For both the Sell To Buy and Win Your Watch List promotion, after reviewing your account’s history it was determined that it does not qualify for these promotions. While you may have additional questions about why this happened, we are not able to go into all of the reasons in order to prevent future circumvention of our policies and procedures.

While you will not be receiving a coupon for either of the promotions, we appreciate your business on eBay.

Thanks for your time,

The eBay Community Team"

What a complete joke...

Support saying they want to keep disqualification reasons vague, can also just mean the real reasons are above their pay grade.

But I can take a guess:

Looking at your items that sold in that time period I can see that all of them were listings with multiple quantity -- and I know (from experience) that some other special promos this year have disqualified listings that have multiples available.

So my guess: As well as meeting the other criteria, the eBay computer only marked as qualified listings with a quantity of one available.

i received the exact same email, with no explanation to what i didn't do correctly, and i don't list multiples..  i accepted ebay's offer, and sold items in the time frame, i should be getting a coupon or a real explanation, as to why i didn't met expectations..

I'll take a guess that it had to do with all your sales being in the Coins & Paper Money category.

Which is mentioned in the coupon exclusions for purchases, but not in the listing exclusions.  Bet some eBay lawyer looked at that and whispered money laundering into the ears of those running this promo.

Badly designed promo, with not enough attention to the details.

Re: "Sell To Buy" promo ($50 value) until 11/17

Oh great... Am trying to buy the fuel pressure tester tool set that I was intending to get with this $50 coupon. It says: "This code can't be applied to some of your items."

The only exclusions I see in the terms are:

"Eligible items exclude items in the Autos, Coins & Paper Money, Gift Cards & Coupons, Cars, Motorcycles & Vehicles, and Real Estate categories."

The offer was accepted and the item is sitting there awaiting payment. I don't have enough funds right now to pay for this $65 item without this $50 coupon.

Did some idiot somehow lump tool sets with one of these categories? What exactly is meant by autos? That is a stupid generalization if it includes tool sets too...

Re: "Sell To Buy" promo ($50 value) until 11/17

I did a search on "fuel pressure tester tool set" -- found 19 results in Automotive and 1 result in Home & Garden.

On my browser all listing pages have a small line that shows the category the Seller has listed the item in (don't know what the APP does). It's easy to miss.

I'd contact the Seller, explain the problem and ask them to please cancel the purchase.

Re: "Sell To Buy" promo ($50 value) until 11/17

If a fuel pressure testing tool set is for testing the fuel pressure in vehicles it makes sense that it is the automotive category. But if they had used the word automotive instead of shortening it to autos it probably would have been less confusing.

Re: "Sell To Buy" promo ($50 value) until 11/17

Today i received this message that i am disqualified:

"This email is in regards to your Community Board posts regarding the recent Sell To Buy promotion. While your account did activate the invitation, not all terms of the promotion were met. Specifically: there were no new listings that were created and sold within the time frame, nor were there any Good Til Cancelled listings that renewed and sold within the time frame"

In fact, all the conditions are met, my listings was created on 10 March, 2019 Good till cancelled, the renewal date was within 1-17 Nov, sold on 15 Nov for 50$ + shipping.

I read the conditions many times, and i am sure everything are met. so why i am disqualified ?!

Re: "Sell To Buy" promo ($50 value) until 11/17

I am also wondering why I was declined. Tried to get specific reason, and received this message through Facebook support:

"I understand that you would like more specifics, but as I mentioned that is all the information we are able to give out because any more info may help members find ways to circumvent of our policies and procedures. ~Jerry"

Circumvent procedures? What does that mean? How do we get more information? My email messages have also been ignored.

Re: "Sell To Buy" promo ($50 value) until 11/17

Thank you for stepping in and helping. i replied to that email in full details about the item that sold. Let's see how it will go. It looks like ebay is not handling this promo well as many sellers have met all requirements and got disqualified including two members who messaged me about that.

If i didn't receive a fair solution or clear reason why i am disqualified. i'll post here all the details that i have as proof that i met all the requirements.

Re: "Sell To Buy" promo ($50 value) until 11/17

tyler@ebay

Going forward will eBay be making more of an attempt to make sure terms are clearer for offers sent to buyers & sellers? 200 plus messages in the various discussions have to be some sort of a conclusion one could draw on the amount of frustration this one offer caused. "Thank you for using eBay" does not do anything to make it up to the sellers who thought they met out all those terms and then found out they didn't by complete surprise!!!
