Just got a email '' information regarding your tax form 1099-k '' never received this form before , is this just if you sell on ebay.com , if you sold at least $20,000 in gross merchandise and exceeded 200 transactions for goods and services you will receive this form , but I did not ( not even close ) so will i still get a form even if in live in Canada not the U.S.

Perhaps I misunderstood but if you forwarded an email to the spoof department at eBay, the reply would not show up in your eBay messages.

Another clue to it not being from eBay, it starts "Hello" and my name is never used.

The first email about the receipt of the 1099-k arrived in eBay Messages...
on December 19.....
Therefore it was eBay's mistake to sent that first email about the 1099-k

@recpedyou indicated that you exceeded the limits many times but you've never been audited?
I'm just wondering for myself because 2020 was the first year when I exceeded the limit. I'm a Canadian who used to lived in the US as a temporary resident. My old US address is still on file with Ebay/ PayPal but I've been living in Canada for a few years now. Do I need to file? If so, with the IRS or CRA? I asked PayPal but they said I should speak to a tax specialist.
