I've registered, I am waiting to be induced which I'm told will be later this month.
I'm looking forward to it, I think I'm going to save a few pennies because I do a lot of sales outside of Canada/USA which are not taxed so I'll get the full benefit of the reduced rates for a large portion of my sales.
The ability to run reports from a single source to get all the accounting information I need will also make my life simpler.
I just went though a mini-nightmare trying to close an INR claim, the problems were strictly because of the sale happening on eBay but the payment and refund involved PayPal. That situation will not happen with MP.
As far as the actual experience, no Canadian sellers can comment on that because no Canadian sellers are actually using MP yet.

I am registered and waiting to see what happens, not having an integrated way to pay for shipping labels is frustrating. So much for having everything in one place with one tool to track sales/expenses/payments etc.

Registration for Managed Payment occurred on May 12, 2020.
eBay has made many changes since I started selling on eBay, January, 2003....
There have been many adjustments..... and I have continued to sell on eBay.... Managed Payments will be my next adjustment.
My view of the adjustments..... Make it happen......

If you type Managed Payments into the This Board box at the top of this page, you will see several dozen discussions most less than 10 comments each on the subject.
Be aware that since MP is not really in use yet, and won't be for a few days, most Canadian sellers are asking questions and passing around gossip from the dotCOM Boards.

The most important fact about MP is that the basics may be the same for the many countries where MP will become a new eBay reality. There are some specifics that differ among countries.
Canadian sellers must focus on the information for eBay Canada. Once a seller registers for MP that seller will have access to the information for MP for eBay Canada.. It took me a while to understand this after I had registered for MP in May.
The first thing a seller must do is confirm that the seller's name is in the same format on eBay and with respect to the bank account for MP payouts.. For me my name is set at ..... first name-last name.
The name can be .....first name-last name.......first name-second name-last name .... First name... middle name initial... last name.
The seller's name is the primary link between the seller's eBay account and the bank account used for MP payouts.
A major difference between MP on eBay Canada and MP on eBay.com is that US sellers on eBay.com must have a checking account.... Canadian sellers that sell on eBay Canada, can use a savings account ... no mention of a checking account..... for MP Payouts on eBay Canada..
A Canadian seller has to decide if they want to continue selling on eBay... specifically eBay Canada ... they must register for MP without hesitation once they have received an invite to register....
It is important to note that registration is the first step in learning everything about MP on eBay.Canada.

The biggest problem that sellers face with MP is that they MUST register for the program before they find out what they will get and what they will not get.
I've signed up, after removing all my dotCOM listings*, and posted a couple of pages of the agreement for others to see.
Nothing terrible that I can see, so why bother to keep it a secret?
As a retired public servant, I am familiar with the differences between confidential, private and secret. Nothing in the agreement, which again sellers have to sign up for without seeing any details, seems to need to be designated any of those levels.
*because we are not allowed to have more than one bank account and certainly are not allowed to have a non-Canadian bank account.

For many sellers, MP will be a welcome change and/or an adjustment they can work with and be comfortable with going forward. For myself, I have used the past 2 years to get established on another venue where my sales have become about equal to eBay sales(and although that isn't saying great things since my eBay sales fell off by 85% 3 years ago, and have remained so few and far between, that it is no longer really worth the time, effort & fees to remain a seller here; this other selling venue is OK for me and much more seller friendly.) The few sales I get on eBay isn't worth the hassle of joining MP. If I had wanted to use that type of payment system, I would not have left Etsy 3 years ago...

I have not "signed-up" nor will I until the last "bell tolls"! But, I have set up my new Shopify account that was as easy as pie, no "secrets" no "bullying" and I set my own "Policies" and it works with PayPal!
No 12% fee on the shipping costs either...
That's a 20/30$ saving each month right there.

It isn’t a marketplace, it is an e-commerce site where you can set up your own web store but buyers don’t go to ‘Shopify’ to browse the different shops like they would here and other marketplace sites. You have to do your own marketing and create traffic to your store. It might work well if you have a large customer base that automatically search for your store or in conjunction with a store on other marketplace sites. You could use that marketplace store to create traffic to your site.

You could use that marketplace store to create traffic to your site.
And vice versa.
The Big Box stores that sell/sold on eBay use it as much as an advertising venue to drive traffic to their own site as an actual eBay business.
I think it's been over a decade since WalMart and other large B&M businesses used this site to experiment with online sales.
If you have a business that lends itself to repeat sales, just putting a price list or even a business card into your parcels can be useful.

Yeah Shopify is not really comparable at all, its just tools to build your own online store. The one thing eBay really has going for it is you can reach millions of customers with zero effort.

I'm with you, a selling fee of 9.15% if you have a store is very reasonable. My only gripe with it is the extremely high fee cap of $750 per transaction. My main gripes with eBay are the bugs and the lack of protection for known, good, experienced sellers.

Were any Canadian sellers that list on dot com sent the offer for fee credits for signing up with MP or was that for US based sellers only? US sellers are starting to see their credits.

Why? Should not the account transfer info be good enough? My name is in different formats is different places. Leave it to eBay to make life difficult!

It is eBay that states the seller name must be the same on eBay and in relation to the record of the bank account at the bank.
From eBay's Managed Payments Checklist......
Bank account info .....
The name or business name on the registered eBay account must match the name or business name on the bank account, so we can verify the individual or business receiving funds is the same individual or business managing the eBay account. You can edit the name on your eBay account in the Account section of My eBay

I recently tried to sign up for managed payments. I can see more pluses than minuses for someone like me. The extra methods of payment is just one of these. Unfortunately I never received an e-mail notification. And when I go to sign up I am told I can't and must wait to be notified.
