I sold a $745 Nintendo Switch bundle and was notified on ebay that payment was sent but it was not showing on my paypal...I contacted Ebay and they told me my funds were safe and to ship the item...I wasn't totally confident so I waited a day and checked and the payment was still on ebay but not paypal...I emailed again and ebay assured me I should send the item and my funds were safe...i sent the item and now both ebay and paypal tells me the buyer has cancelled the paypal transaction and they cant do anything to help...I asked to escalate this and no one will return my email...I can only upload 1 photo but this clearly tells me to ship the item and assures me that my funds were safe, now I'm out almost $800...with all the emails assuring me it was safe to ship I feel that this is a pretty clear cut case Thanks for your opinions!

Hi Everyone, New Seller here. When I reach the shipping details I would like to choose Calculated: Cost varies by the buyer location option. Under services it allows me to calculate shipping. Over here it only provides me the options for using a Canada Post Box. I ordered 50 custom boxes to sell my items. Can't I use that? If I can, I am not sure which option to choose from the drop down list. The dimensions of my box is 13"x11"x2.75" so I am not sure whether that is considered as a Canada Post small box, medium or large box. Also, for my product it can only fit one pack in one box, I am wondering if a buyer orders 2 packs, I would have to use 2 separate boxes. How do I let ebay know that its only 1 pack that a buyer can purchase, otherwise they have to pay for 2 packages (shipping) or I have to buy a bigger box. Any advise on the above is appreciated! Thank you.

I sold an item on ebay in Oct 2019, the item was $335 and was sold to a person in Ecuador who I had communicated that it was quite expensive and that they'd have to pay for the shipping so they needed to pay the extra shipping. I only had listed for CAD/US only for free shipping and extra cost will be the buyers responsibility. The buyer agreed and contacted me and said they will pay for the item. The auction ended as the buyer has won, and stayed in limbo until I contacted again because no payment was made to my PayPal. Almost a month has gone by and no one has made any attempt at payment, then I was contacted again by buyer who I contacted numerous times that they will pay. The buyer insisted they needed the item by Dec. and wanted me to send even though I had no payment come through my paypal. I waited and I then eventually had removed the item from Ebay, and proceeded to file an unpaid item. There was a message that the case was closed then the buyer file an undelivered item. I appeal this to ebay and they were looking into it from Dec.. I recently just received an email and phone calls that I thought was scams telling me that I owed 395 from an automated dialer. I ignored them because I thought they were scams. Then I get an email stating I owed Ebay $400 this infuriated me because this happened in Oct. And then had a message to contact them by 90 days which I have never checked my messages so they can resolve it. It is now Covid -19 lock down I have no way to contact anyone and I owe Ebay $400 for the reimbursement they gave this buyer who never paid me anything and refused to understand I took the item off and never sold it. They refused to pay and give me a proper invoice or purchase printout snap shot instead this person from the last conversation it so happens gives me a snap shot of a mobile app with no item number and purchase invoice? I looked at any records on my paypal for payment, nothing there is no payment made no type of transaction. What do I do, Ebay is holding me responsible for a fraud committed by a buyer who never paid me anything. This is going to give me anxiety attacks because I don't owe anyone $400 from ebay!! Then looking into this buyer they were a member since 2018 with only 25 feedbacks, is this possible. I'm a member of ebay since 2000 with over 409 feedbacks?

I just sold an item and after getting all the shipping sorted out. I was looking at Paypal transaction and I noticed that I was charged a tax from ebay. I do not sell much and the last item I sold last month I was not charged a tax.Both items went to the States . Any help would be great Thank You

I need to have ebay step in on a case as i have overwhelming evidence its a false claim (long story i already had the first case won in my favor) i emailed ebay and the customer service rep said this. To resolve this concern, we must wait for the case to close then after that, we will appeal. The reason is the case is created incorrectly (false claim, not as described) from the very start. Here are clear steps. 1. Do not accept the return. You have that option. 2. In case you still received back the item. Send a message to your buyer and write down and compare what you shipped against the item that just arrived. 3. Do not refund the buyer and just wait until the case gets closed. 4. You will receive a notification when the case gets closed and then get in touch with us to appeal. sadly english isnt my first language so i am a bit confused by his wording. for 1 I do not see the option not to accept so does he mean i just dont press the accept option and leave it alone till it expires? 3/4 case gets closed i dont see an option to close case so does he mean i wait for it to expire? as i see the case says it will expire on the 15th. is that the normal way? do i have to wait for it to expire to have the option to escalate it/ask ebay to step in? i have never dealt with a claim before so this is very new and very confusing.

Thankfully Canada Post is delivering but they are not asking for or accepting signatures on registered or express post packaged within Canada. How does this effect ebay sellers in Canada from non arrival claims ? Thanks for replies.

I delete it but I have to keep delting it every time I open my listing it's there again DRIVES ME UP THE WALL! Hi I am a long time buyer/collector who has just started selling some of my extra collectibles. I have no store. Complete newbie. I want to end some of my listings because they are not selling and I have to rethink price or adding them to other items as a lot etc. Also our small rural town is shutting down fast and I don't know if I will be going to the post office anymore as I am in a high risk category. So I may not even bother to relist for awhile. I am still on the 50 free listings that roll over if I don't cancel them. Are there any penalties for ending the free listings early? What should I put as the reason for ending - none of the listed reasons seem to apply to my situation. I picked item is broken and a mistake was made in the listing for a few I ended because nothing else applied to my situation. Is there any penalty for picking those reasons? Hi. I am a new seller and I have a few watchers on some of my items. I do not see any Send Offer button under any of my active listings. They are buy it now or make an offer listings. I am guessing it is either because I am a new seller or because I have listed the make an offer listing that I don't get this option? Thanks for any info on this. Also I worry about not being able to check the feedback on the person I am sending an offer to. I have blocked anyone with strikes or unpaid items but there is no way to see the person I am sending an offer to so I can't check the feedback they leave for sellers to see if they could be a problem buyer. I could be sending offers to someone who will end up causing me problems. Sherie

Hi, On eBay CANADA site, I sent offer to watcher. I got confirmation the offer was sent, but once it is gone I can't find any trace of it. Also, not sure if I sent an offer from ebay.CA to a USA user if he received an offer for "100$ CAD", "100$ USD or a converted amount of the 100$ CAD to USD. So my questions: 1. How can I see the offer I sent (poor memory would like to see the amount I put there) 2. In which currency do a USA user receive the offer ? P.S. Looks like eBay use for it's IT development the AGILE / SCRUM method : make it as fast and cheap as possible and roll it out without proper testing, let the user figure it out Thanks Christian

Beginner Question: When I search sold items on eBay Canada, does that just show items that were sold to Canadian buyers, or does it show sold comps for both u.s. and Canadian marketplace. I searched a couple of products on ebay.com and ebay.ca and went under sold listings and a lot of them seem to be on the same date and for the same price. I guess what I want to know is if every item under the sold listings tab on Ebay.ca was actually sold to a canadian buyer and shipped to canada. I would really appreciate it if someone could clarify this, and sorry if this is a stupid question. Thanks 🙂

I got an offer from the UK for 67% higher than my listed price. He won't use PayPal and want to do a bank transfer. He wants me to text him for shipping info but the area code of the # he gave doesn't show up in any of the UK area code listings. How do I check this out?

Hello, I just got my first sale today and am confused about printing a Canada Post shipping label. I went to my Paypal account to print out a label thinking that I could use the money that is on hold to pay for shipping. Is there a way to do this? Thanks -Kaitlin

Whenever I click "send invoice" in the "Send invoice to buyer" page I get: "There was a technical error - please try again in a moment." Been getting these for several months now. Pretty sure I'm not the only seller who get these, can you do something about it eBay? Come on eBay you've been in business for long enough!

I have some questions about how good til cancelled actually works. All of my listings are single listings, not multiple, so why does a sold listing keep showing up in my active listings? and are these being renewed? am i paying for something that is sold already? Also,is there a way to archive them? or is the only way to take them out of the active listings to delete them? ANy insight on this would be really helpful, thank you 🙂

Hi E-Bayers, I have some sunglasses that I'd like to sell to the US. 1. Since the selling price is over 100.00$ Canadian, would you get it signed upon delivery? Do you also add insurance to the shipment in case it gets lost in the mail? How do you usually proceed? Like, do you ask the buyer if they live in an apartment complex or in a house? 2. I listed these sunglasses to be shipped as a tracked packet to the US, (the buyer will be paying the shipping) because these items will obviously need a tracking code, is this how you would do it? After calculating the price in the Canada Post Calculator, I noticed Small Packet US Air doesn't offer to track. The shipment including the box weighs less than 500 gr. Tks for your responses,

For income tax filing, I want to know only the item's sold price must be stated or the shipping must be stated too? Also is there any difference between selling to a U.S. buyer and Canadian buyer in tax filing? Thanks

I sold a couple of camera lenses too two different buyers, the first was without problem and the second has been a bit of a nightmare. The second lens I sold and upon receipt was (because I had put no returns) said not to match description (it very accurately met the description). It was returned at my cost and I received a lens with the serial number removed and a non working autofocus. The lens I received is not mine, PayPal released the funds to my account and I filed a complaint against the buyer. At this point I have no intention on refunding the buyer as he's stolen my lens and replaced it with a broken one (and removed the SN so its difficult to identify). How do i prevent they buyer from further abusing the returns system to get a free lens and leaving me with nothing? I did deposit the money from my PayPal into my bank account so in theory it should be safe from eBay clawing it back, I also have a video of me receiving the lens, opening it up and testing it (one continuous video) as well as a picture with the lens having a SN on it. With this will eBay attempt to force me to refund the buyer and what recourse do I have?

I have a buyer who made an offer, had it accepted, and paid before I could invoice. In my listing I note that I have to collect domestic tax on domestic shipments. He refuses to pay the tax. I'm giving him the option of cancelling with full refund, no hard feelings. He won't cancel. The listing clearly notes tax to be added within Canada. This transaction will be a significant loss if I have to absorb the tax. On his side, he notes, ebay asked him to pay and he paid the offer amount and shipping. He interprets being asked to pay as not including the tax. As noted, he decided he won't pay it. That's fine by me, but I want him to cancel the transaction. I don't want to do so. So, he is suggesting I am not honouring a legitimate purchase. I know from experience that some ebayers pay in advance to hope or avoid skipping the tax, which I believe is the case here. However, I would like to know if I am missing any steps which could help to avoid this problem. I don't approve of ebay asking a buyer to pay until the seller sends an invoice. It could confuse buyers or simply allow them to attempt to underpay bu noy paying tax. Appreciate replies.

please help me as I am at an absolute loss at the disservice being done to me by eBay! Back in October I opened my ebay app and saw a promotion that peaked my interest. It was entitled 'Sell Now Gift Later' and it said that if I sold an item(s) I would receive a credit from eBay for the amount of the selling price (so basically I would receive double the selling price I received! Great deal!). (Promo Page https://pages.ebay.ca/sell-to-buy/index . ) I had not sold an item on ebay for several months or longer but decided to find something to sell specifically because of this offer. I also low-balled my selling price because I wanted to sell it fast before the Nov 17th deadline, which I did, plus I would receive the coupon for the equal amount too. The item I sold was item# 333386647697. Yesterday I followed up on that promotion because I hadn't received the credit yet. In rereading the promotion it appeared my credit/coupon was overdue, it should've been received already. I called eBay customer service and they basically called me a liar saying that there is no such promotion and I was scammed by a fake banner ad. I spoke with Rodel and after getting nowhere with him and wasting 20minutes I demanded to speak to a manager. Eventually Joanna joined my call, she would not disclose her location but when pressed she provided me with a reference number for my call. Joanna would not even listen and continued to speak over me not allowing me to get a word in edgewise. I am disgusted to be screwed over like this!! To make an offer and then not stand by it in the way eBay is doing is SHAMEFUL! I demand my $19.90 CDN credit coupon! Anything less and I will make it my mission to share this terrible experience each and everywhere I can and I won't rule out making an appearance at the eBay Canada head office to cause a scene! I lived a short distance from there. eBay has already dropped a lot in my eyes following this experience! Does anyone have email contact at eBay and/or know if there is an ombudsman I can contact?

the positive feedback is currently 95.7%, yet even after I received 6 positives from buyers, and a few from sellers, it has practically not changed at all since the spring prior to this, the feedback was 100% for eight years ebay, btw, is happily collecting $15 to $20 per month in listing fees, swallowing up most of the meager profits gained ( and in lieu of a valid turbo lister backup) while this low, recent bad % has had a devastating impact on the sales any comments or suggestions on this? by the way, if somebody suggests i 'buy' my way to higher feedback totals ( by purchasing more) this has been torpedoed by paypal's intrusive new I.D ( picture, tax form, employment history etc) requirements, blocking paypal made purchases unless those documents are submitted ..... i don't want to pay bank fees on ebay purchases
