Snotty sellers

What do you do when you give honest feedback about a product and the seller blocks you ? I said her sizing was way off and since no returns I lost over 50.00 ! Is that fair ?

Re: Snotty sellers

A lot of sellers block for everything and anything. You cannot do anything against that.

On my buying account i literally stopped leaving feedbacks. Most sellers will indeed instantly block buyers for leaving anything else than a positive. Even if they are in the wrong.

You should have contacted the seller about the issue. Or open an item not as described case to return it.

Leave a negative feedback only to sellers you know won't want to deal with anymore. This is something hurting seller ratings, reputation, and search placement.

Re: Snotty sellers

As rocketscollectibles has said it is common for sellers to block someone who leaves negative feedback.

You don't mention if you had tried to contact her first (hopefully you did before leaving the feedback).

She may have been more apologetic than angry if there was a discussion first. You shouldn't be out the $50 since eBay has a Money Back Guarantee if you are not happy, but you would have had to go through the steps of Opening a Case for item not as described and return the item (she pays return shipping cost).

The seller may claim "no returns", but if the item is unsatisfactory you are entitled to a refund at the very least.

Open a claim: https://www.ebay.ca/help/ip?topicId=4041&contextid=35b33b49

Don't posture with the seller, just get your money back; with or without a return.

Seller pays for and provides a label for tracked return of the item, not you.

Re: Snotty sellers

Sellers can have a No Returns policy, but all sellers make refunds.

This is yet another example of both members giving a GSW to their own foot.

The Seller has a neg, which does not affect eBay's assessment of their account but may affect future buyers.

The Buyer feels stuck with a garment that does not fit.

@joshmo999You can get a Refund whether the seller accepts returns or not.

Even with a No Returns policy the seller can demand the return of the disputed item.

I assume the seller gave measurements and they are not the same as the garment you received?

Fit and measurements are not the same thing.

Open a Not As Described dispute.

The Seller will be required to send you Return Shipping.

If they don't you win the dispute and get a refund.

If they do, when they have the garment back, you get a refund.

She blocked me from contacting her. I will see what I can do via your suggestion. Nice of her to mention that. Not a nice seller

I guess I'm going to be a snotty poster, but your negative/neutral feedback left in the past suggests that you've tended to leave that feedback rather than first trying to resolve any issues you have with the sale with the seller.

These discussion boards aren't just a place to vent; they're a great place to learn about the ins and outs of buying and selling on eBay in addition to the eBay's own information pages.  Someone who's used eBay for twenty-odd years should be pretty familiar with the mechanisms available to buyers should a sale go sideways, such as eBay's Money Back Guarantee.  Next time you have an issue with a seller, come to these boards for advice before you leave that feedback.
