Support Canadian Sellers! Support Canadian businesses! Support the Canadian economy! Buy Canadian!

Forget who is supposed to be delivering the item.
You can't control that, and neither can any seller who did not use USPS* international shipping to Canada.
When is the last estimated date for delivery?
If that has not yet passed , you have no reason to watch tracking.
Do you have a secure place for packages to be left?
This is your responsibility not the seller, not eBay, not the carrier.
If the seller is using USPS* shipping it stays within the postal system and will be delivered by Canada Post.
If the carrier decides that there is no secure place to leave an unattended package, the Standard Practice, is to leave a Notice telling you where and when you can arrange delivery or pickup.
*Sellers who use eIS for international shipping sometimes use USPS to ship to the eIS plant in Illinois. This confuses many of them.

i would if people here sold the vintage lunch boxes I want

well, i got my item from uniuni and I called them because I was worried, they were very polite and helpful and saw that my message was passed onto the driver about my buzzer code but could not tell me a time estimate on delivery only 12 to 24 hours after you get the message "out for delivery".

the various processing fees (AKA “brokerage charges”) are going to be much more than a few bucks on delivery.
Those who remember the pre-GSP days, will also remember the 5000+ long thread complaining about UPS and other couriers' charging a minimum of $25 "brokerage" on shipments valued over $20Cdn.

It is Sunday Jan 26 2025
They are still using Uniuni and this is the first I've ever heard of them and already not pleased.
My package has been marked "out for delivery" since 5pm yesterday.
Their stupid help bot just says typically 2 days.
Am I suppose to wait by my door for two *&$%)(&ing days?
This is the final item I buy on eBay. I bet they don't look or care what these community say either.
I am running out of places to buy online.

I don't like playing the "blame the victim" game, but it's my understanding that it's the responsibility of the buyer to ensure they have a safe way to receive delivered items. How do other carriers handle items they can't deliver to you personally, @une_66?
That said, if the Uni Uni website states what you say it states, the delivery agent contracted by Uni Uni needs to live up to that claim.

now i'm waiting for "14 business days" for the seller to be credited, at which point, it will be 100% at their discretion as to whether or not they refund me the money.
This part confuses me. Was this item forwarded through eBay International Shipping? If so, the seller's responsibility for the shipment ended once your package was accepted at the forwarding hub in Illinois and it's eBay that's on the hook after that. The seller has no part in this, although their funds may be put on a temporary hold while this gets sorted out because the automated part of the system that handles non-delivery claims doesn't see eIS shipments as being distinct from direct shipments.

Keep in mind that not all US sellers use the eBay International Shipping service to forward their items out of the country. Some US sellers still ship directly to the buyer via the US Postal Service/Canada Post or carriers such as UPS and FedEx. Also, some buyers use established third party forwarding services to handle getting their items to Canada (or wherever) if the seller can't or won't ship outside of the US or use an alternative international shipping method.
The possibly good news is that US sellers will soon be able to give their buyers the choice between eBay International Shipping and another shipping service of their choice, so hang tight for that.
I know this message is oldish but can you qualify soon please? Your response was from 2023 Personally not seeing it in 2025 listings!! Wasn't eBay talking about combined shipping for eIS awhile ago. Has that even happened?

I've had several items delivered by UniUni. Mostly as last mile carrier of orders from the US. So far, no issues with them. Their delivery times have been accurate.

It appears you are located in a metropolitan area. Usually couriers are much better there vs buried in a suburb or a small town in boonies. More consistent frequent drive bys. Fedex ground is awesome in my area. UPS...no comment. Luck of the draw.
As for anyone that has gotten the priviledge of a delivery routed with Apple...we don't talk about that. Serious horror stories.

I saw choices on a small handful of listings a few months (give or take) after I made that post, @lotzofuniquegoodies, but certainly not all listings where eIS was being offered. What's more, when I changed the destination country for the item, I found it would show up more often for other countries than it would for Canada. It kinda looked as though the choice was being offered when eIS would be the better option in terms of price, but I could be remembering that wrong.
I think the choice option might have disappeared when eBay changed how shipping rates were displayed on listing pages, but don't quote me on that. It might just be that there weren't many US eBay sellers willing to offer their international customers a choice between eIS and more direct international shipping, so the idea died a quiet death.

eBay has made so many changes to those displays in the last few years, it has become hard to know what you fill see each new time you try. Just when one has it figured out, it will change so totally agree with your observations.
I was just looking at a bulky item that sold recently in the US. Large but not heavy. $75 USD shipping across the USA. Same item to Canada 175.00. (Anywhere in Canada with calculated, same price.) Do you know any Canadian who would be willing to pay 175 plus customs for a lower valued item? Unfortunately USPS and eIS listings have very little involvement when it comes to Canadian delivery methods and distance. Where, for us distance definitely matters. I know it will happen but until Canadian buyers can shop by service instead of only price we will be against a wall when it comes to purchasing in the USA. From speaking to Canadian users who have "tried" to combine on shipping from US sellers that is still a nightmare. With no improvements that seem to be in the pikes no matter what the US podcasts have to report when they say "coming soon".
When it comes to eIS, many sellers got opted in and if it is possible to opt out or do a 1 of that avoids it is very difficult. When using USPS everything got tossed in the dumpster when they chose to list most expensive in the dropdown. Strangely USPS does it that way too.
I have been able to confirm that if a buyer shops on ca but happens to be in the US my old small packet air is the default that comes up in search. Doing the same search on com shows tracked first.
In trying to edit 2000 + listings using the bulk editor is not for the faint of heart and definitely not to be tried in large quantities. Why I have been pushing for eBay to amend the listing tool for services to be by courier vs speed. That would be more intuitive and cause sellers much less grief.
As a just throwing this out there, can any Canadian buyers report getting a refund on US shipping? I know Canadian sellers routinely refund if something is hinky with final shipping costs. My impression is US sellers see shipping as a revenue source, similar to how eBay sees it.

It's the page layout.
Priority is the most expensive and at the top of the list.
Then a dozen other choices not all tracked, and waaaaaay at the bottom the cheapest -> First Class International Packet Tracked.
If you've ever done a marketing seminar on store layout, you'll spot what's happening immediately.

My only reason for mention was CP lists lowest to highest on their page and eBay uses lowest in search. Majority of customers preference is most economical shipping service. I know that's where my eyes always focus.
