I am establishing another ID that only lists on .ca, mostly music that is Canadian. Now when I list an item on my main ID, it gets listed almost right away, I can find it in searches and I start getting hits right away. On my newer ID, it takes a full 24 hours to start getting hits or showing up in searches. They sure don't make it easy for a new seller. I am so happy I have an established ID.

When you call in 30 days to have your newbie restrictions loosened, let the rep know that you have an existing long-term ID.
When I did that on a "test" account, my allowable listings went from 10 to 40,000. 😁
Did you have any difficulties with Managed Payments? Did you choose to use the same bank account and was that allowed? (If that's confidential, don't answer.)

I think "fair" has many aspects...
Why would eBay show a "new", somewhat unproven seller's stuff as fast as or equal to an established high ranking seller?
If I were eBay and I had to put something in front of a buyer, I would first pick established high ranking seller's material because "mathematically" the odds are higher that that transaction will be successful.
Established high ranking sellers would be annoyed if eBay were placing unestablished sellers's stuff ahead of them....all other things being equal.
As an old timer, I like to think of things like they were before the internet, if someone opens a brand new mechanic shop in town, it is going to take a while (and lots of $$$ advertising) before they can build up a customer base because there won't be any word of mouth type experience bringing customers to them......annoying as this online world is, I think it is a lot easier to start up something new than the pre internet world was.....

Bit of a caveat with linking your established account with a new one. New accounts have very low tolerances for infractions and getting suspended. If that happens the suspension applies to all of the linked accounts, including your established one.
I had set up a new .ca account for for $CDN, bought small items to boost the feedback and had listed about 3 items. Then that ID was permanently suspended, and I have no idea why. I know how to list, they were simple low value items, no copyright etc. issues. It was just an auto bot assesment that the ID was too risky. After getting the notice I called in and they asked me what kind of stuff I would be selling, and as I have a variety of items, I indicated a couple of categories like vintage audio parts, crafts and Lego, as well as whatever basically. The judgement was swift, the suspension stood, and there is no appeal or feedback on why, and they refuse to tell you why.
If I set up another one I will wait a few months until considering if I want to link the account. Maybe I just hit some weird mix in the algorithms, but it is scary thinking that my main account could have been suspended as well. Though I am leery about trying to set up another account now.
If I se

They seem to be suspending a lot of new sellers lately without giving a reason. That would be extremely frustrating. But when a selling account is suspended their other accounts aren't allowed to sell either even if the accounts aren't linked.

I suspect they are suspending the new accounts because they are failing to sign up for managed payments. Either because they have failed to complete the registration process correctly or they have outright given false information.
Back in the early days of MP some sellers were (and others recommending) to enter things like false SSN numbers. I don't think eBay was verifying SSN's until somewhat recently.

eBay can quite easily link accounts withour a seller doing it themselves. If you use the same name or address or SSN or computer they will already have the linkage information they just need a reason to check. If you don't think eBay checks for other id's when they suspend one you might be fooling yourself.
