GLOBAL SHIPPING FORM THE STATES -- WAIT TIMES COMPLETELY WRONG

i was going to order some train sets as xmas presents from the usa or at least that whats they say they are from -- who knows ??????-- using global shipping guaratee by dec 18th --- when i got a hold of seller they just said they send it global shipping and have no idea when its delivered -- nor do they care they said once it  was at global shipping head office it delivered as far as they are concerned -- but they global shipping for this item is shipped for 26 dollars can. -- no way fedex /ups is shipping anything less than 30 dollars these days anywhere so -- what gives ?? by the way the item costs $3.99 us each-- if  it does goes  into postal system in the states then it will be stuck in pregutory  hell for a least a month and thats if the strike is settled soon -- last time we had a strike at the post office when it  was on -- i recieved a item by ebay 62 days after the strike was setlled  at least i got it -- the seller had already gone out of business and quit ebay i was told -- and when i sent a gift to someone during  that same strike by mistake- i admit-stupid move- but i sent it -- first class mail  delivery --- they never did recieve the item and i was out  50 dollars tried to file a action  at usps  theytold me  in person at their detroit head post office --- good luck -- i was told try your side  meaning the canada post office --- ha ha ha - which i did and was turned down or at least they said they where investagating-- called three times over a month -- well you know the outcome -- zero

so why does ebay allow on their on shipping plan delivery dates that are unreal for the present climate --

just a thoght more than a question -- i already --kind of know the anwser

eBay does not provide guaranteed delivery dates. The dates you see are estimates and say so on the listing page.

The eBay-based international forwarding system based out of the United States is now called eBay International Shipping (eIS) and it takes advantage of substantial discounts it gets from the logistics companies and carriers with which it works.

If your sale is covered by the Money Back Guarantee, you can file a case for a not-received item in the same manner as a sale where the seller ships more directly.  For an item handled by eIS, eIS will issue a refund, not the seller.

If using ebay's international shipping program, the Seller mails to the USA hub (the Seller doesn't care what happens after that)  using cheap domestic shipping.

The hub decides who will deliver in Canada.  Where possible they have switched away from Canada Post to other alternatives while the strike is on.

Last estimated delivery date is December 8th

Today is November 30th.

EIS is a Seller Protection program.

Once the shipment is delivered to eIS in Illinois, near O'Hare Airport a major shipping hub in Chicago, responsibility for delivery moves to eIS and is no more a worry for the seller

.

EIS uses a plethora of sub-contractors and had been using Canada Post less and less even before the strike, to the consternation of buyers who found those other contractors (particularly Intelcom) very unreliable.

EIS was conceived by eBay to encourage paranoid and xenophobic US sellers to ship outside the lower 48 states. Without it, it is very likely, in light of the response you got, that your seller would not even have offered your items for shipment to Canada.

the seller had already gone out of business and quit ebay i was told

It takes months for eBay to close a selling account because they know there are often late problems with accounts and credit card chargebacks can be made up to six months after payment.
