Management Payment System over charging update

It clearly shows this new Payment Management System is over charging on fees

The item below was sold to USA buyer

Under Ebay rules if you offer free shipping or mail with in 24 hours although i can be for sure I had been told
that when i qualified as Top rated seller that you get that extra benefit but it may  instead be all sellers
Thus the (SFVF) would be charged to the lowest amount that being Dmestic or if you offered free shipping Domestically
but charged say $20.00 to send to USA or Europe no fees would be charged on the (SFVF) amount

Well that is now seems gone or  the system has been set up and  now over charging
The tem below sold recently for $11.00 shipping plus $4.00 to USA thus full amount fees were charged.

Under that ruling above fee on shipping should have been charged on $3.00 thus in total of $14.00 not $15.00

Here is info below you can  do the math and see that the system is charging more as thats what its set up to do

Thus that old benefit you can now kiss it good bye and then they tells Management Payments is better for us.

see for your selfs and let me know if you are having the same issues. if that benefit still exists then the system is pulling in $ miliions in over charges

the amount maybe small but times that by a few million transactions per day and that adds up into taking alot of $$$$$$$.

What state did the card end up shipping to?  Most states charge Internet Sales Tax (collected and remitted by eBay) and that affects the overall charge for the item and the FVF you're charged is based on that overall charge.

Re: Management Payment System over charging update

It looks fairly accurate to me (i am not in managed payments yet but)

11.00 item at 12.35% = 1.36
3.00 cheapest shipping at 10% (is shipping still calculated at that % ?) = 0.30

then they add the 0.06 for the buyer being in the usa for a total of 1.72/1.73

Special Promotion C $0.19 ( no clue what this is? LOL)

Item fee total
-C $1.73
Final Value Fee
-C $0.30 (fixed amount for processing transaction)

Total fees
-C $2.03
VAT -C $0.27 (13% HST I assume)
Total fees (VAT) -C $2.30

My take on it?

Re: Management Payment System over charging update

I have a few items where Canadian shipping is lower than US Shipping, I jusr checked the most recent sales of those items and the fvf portion of fees were ALL calculated using the lower Canadian shipping.

Same thing with a bunch of overseas sales where the difference in shipping is much greater, they are also also based on the Canadian shipping amount not the International rate.

One thing that did suprise me is that the International Fee is also calculated on the lower amount instead of the total actual payment.

In the last few weeks they have really improved the Transaction Details page for MP sales, it's now very clear what the fee base is and the percentage charged are now shown.

Re: Management Payment System over charging update

Here is an example of an Item I charge $4.00 for shipping in Canada and $5.25 for shipping to the US. This sale was to Florida so no Sales Tax to add confusion (Florida sales will have sales tax after July 1st).

You can clearly see that while the buyer paid a total of $16.94 all the fees were calculated using $15.69 the diffference of $1.25 is the difference between the shipping amount the buyer paid and what the shipping amount would have been to a Canadian buyer of the same item.

I also checked several Overseas sales where the difference in shipping is much larger and they show exactly the same thing.
