You are responsible for your monthly payment because you have a store subscription.

Whether you sell or on time away because of a postal strike your payment is due until your subscription expires and is not renewed.

You are responsible for your apartment rent while you are on vacation.

You are responsible for your mortgage payment even if the house burns down.

A Store subscription is not a "heavy burden" and definitely not a "tax".

Pretty much anyone with a Store has one to SAVE money.

If you CHOSE a one year subscription you do it because it's cheaper than month to month, if you want to cancel early there is a penalty, if you don't like that then pay the higher month to month rate and there will be no early cancellation fee.

There are quite a few reasons to dislike some of eBay's policies, you don't have to make ones up that don't actually exist.
