January to April are typically the slowest months for retail sales.

Everyone I talk to on this subject is reporting the same thing… sales are down. I think this time of year is typically slow to begin with, couple that with pandemic restrictions meaning people are starting to get out more and in front of their computers for retail therapy less equals a bit of a perfect storm…in a bad way. I’m holding out that these things are cyclical and this too shall pass. At least I hope so because my wife is going to start complaining that my inventory is encroaching on her storage space...

There are no predictables in online selling...It's all about the product; its uniqueness, quality, supply & demand, target market,etc,etc...buyer habits change, trends come, trends go...
Selling on more than one site also helps...I have listings on 3 online selling venues plus offering items locally via sites available for local advertising thereby foregoing having to ship items....Have sold more locally in the past year than before online selling became a thing...

How do sales compare to February 2019? 2020?
Most of 2020 had a pandemic surge of online buying, and although in 2021 that had abated somewhat, local shopping is still difficult for many people, so those years should be regarded as something of an outlier.
My experience is slightly different, in that January to April tend to be storng sales months. But most sellers find this time to be slow.
Compare apples to apples. Oranges have similarities to apples, but they are still different.
