I just sold a pattern to a Canadian address, and find that they have been charged for International shipping rate. I checked the listing, and it has the correct shipping for Canada so I don't understand why they would be charged the International rate. The addess is quite clearly Canadian.
I have only just got back onto Managed Payments, and I don't know how to do a partial refund, would someone help me please?

If you do need to do a partial refund, go to that item in sellers hub-- orders, click on the arrow and then click on send refund. I think that you have to enter a reason and the amount.

I just checked, she was charged $6.10, it should have been $3.50

Is it possible your customer chose International Standard for shipping? That shows as 6.10 USD. (Vogue 7593?)

I am not sure Lotz, does the buyer actually choose the shipping?

If that's the correct listing, when I checked it, it shows 2 options available so the buyer could choose. Based on the info eBay is showing the more expensive service is actually slower.
Any refund would be at your discretion but probably applicable if you are using letter service.
For my listings I routinely add multiple options so buyers can compare or choose what meets their requirements. Why I have never been a fan of "generic" shipping options and/or flat rate.

Thanks, it's just about 40 miles away, I think I will leave mailing until later tomorrow just in case she wants it mailed to another destination. She is a first-time buyer. I made a mistake, the shipping should have been $2.45. I have sent her a message.

I tried to do the refund, I put the reason as overpaid on shipping cost. But when the amount of refund came up, it was greyed out and there was no way to put it in. Any help?

I see what you mean. The 'review refund' is greyed out...I'm not sure why.

I have tried several times, not much I can do at the moment. Thanks for checking.

I just tried on eBay.com Hub and it seems to work. Possibly try another browser? I used my iPad though, not my laptop.

Could not get it to work msmaggie. I have sent the package, if I hear from the buyer that she made a mistake in asking for the higher postage I will have to phone eBay and get some help with a refund.
I am wondering if it's possible that when CA comes up at the end of the address it maybe registered as California and not Canada.

I don't know....Trying to picture that....
You're saying that the address was something like:
Jane Doe
1 main street
anywhere ON xxx xxx
CA
Unless I've just forgotten, I don't recall seeing that abbreviation on an ebay address before. If I ever see CA it is written as
Jane Doe
1 main street
anywhere CA
United States
Either way, you should have still been able to do a partial refund so I'm not sure what was happening there either.
