eBay pictures not loading (sitewide problem, dot com too)

Seems there's a very big problem with pictures right now.

Some are loading in thumbnails but not loading otherwise. Many are missing.

There's a LOT of posts on the .com forum about it. Been happening for the past 2 hours maybe? Even more?

It seems there's a 503 error while loading some images. That would be a ressource problem on a server. I guess it's the image server that is having problem or caching server.

This has definitely been going on for a couple of hours now. I can't upload photos through the app or via my laptop. Existing photos on my items and other people's items won't load. Doesn't matter which web browser.

This is the worst meltdown on eBay in quite a few years.

as you understand, it's a worldwide problem. All these platforms uses the same image server, which is: i.ebayimg.com

Probably a transparent CDN issue - nobody in their right mind serves that many images from a single point server.

Let's hope so. Let's also hope they have some redudancy and multiple servers. that i.ebayimg.com is only the entry point.

We don't know what is going on after that point. So it is difficult for us to pinpoint the problem. 😉 We can only speculate.
