where you changed banks as a seller and got kicked down to 500 items to list after 21 years ?

and yes i'm a top rated seller , 100% positive !

now i have to wait 30 days to beg for a increase in listings !!

and they deleted more than 62 listings since i changed banks thats been there for years and years !

my feed back profile as agent said i was new ?!

Positive Feedback (last 12 months): 100%Member since: 12-Aug-03 in Canada

That's concerning...

I wanted to change the bank account of our business linked in our eBay account because we switched bank. I guess I will not... I don't want to lose listings while they activate the change...

I will then wait before doing so. Good thing I kept our old bank account active...

Can you keep us updated on this issue?

Maybe devon@ebay  could look at this, and provide some insight.

It sounds ridicuolus that past history and listing will get deleted just for changing banking info.

There is a pattern where humans have no ability to over-ride the bots.

Have you tried reaching out through Facebook?  That is generally recommended to interact with real eBay employess versus contractors.   Still would not hold my breath expecting a reversal but it may be worth a try.

this happened to me a couple of years ago and it took me about a year to recover I was held back at 500 listings with each week or so they added as few more it took me about like I say a year to at that time to get back to my 2600 listings I had then -- nothing to do I tried everything,  asked everywhere for advice, but everyone said it was  a random thing they do and its a bitter pill to follow but has to be done  I feel for your pain just keep plugging it will all turn around later than sooner but it does turn---

had over 18,000 hockey cards listed , all they would say is " come back in a month and ask for a incress and show that you have proven yourself " when i ask what i have to prove after 21 years all he said was " come back in a month " and ended the chat.

I would personnally be very **bleep** and honestly... that would be a deal breaker for me doing business on eBay... That's so much money and time lost that I couldn't make eBay profitable anymore with that kind of lost in listings... Some businesses on eBay have paid employees. Imagine all that time paid lost.

It's weird that only a change of bank account trigger this... So basically, it means we are stucked with the same bank account forever or lose our business on eBay...

Did you change anything else in our account? Only the bank account?

Maybe it's the switch to business account and not the bank account?

Hi @john_koenig99! When it comes to selling limits, it is based on several factors and since some of them are account specific, OP would need to work with our customer support team for a potential increase in their selling limits.

hi John and nice to meet you

I'm the one that started this thread , i'm hockeycardsincanada .

i have talked to 5 members customer support and the first one was nice and said that he checked and the only thing that had changed was my bank account to a business accout and he put in a ticket # 1-493713710322 and said it would take 24-48 hours to fix it .

after 3 days nothing , when i asked " customer support " again different person , said i can't do anything and wait and see if i get a incress , everytime  i ask " why ?" they wound't say !

i have a perfect rating , been with ebay for 21 ( well 22 in aug this year ) years , top selling top rated !

Now i'm down to 18 listings and 74 have been removed by ebay ! and only allowed to list no more than 500 items . i deal in hockey cards , i have ( or had ) listings with over 500 items in one listing for years .

my avg. is 2-10 sales per day , now down to zero ! avg. selling per year around $15k

i have looked into this on my own and found that others have had this done also and e-bay is using Nembol and i think thats a part of it and also if i pay ebay $300.00 per month ( store ) over and above my 15% of total sales i can list up to 25,000 items with no problem ! i personal think its a way to try and force me to pay for a e-bay store .

Thank you Devon for your concern on this matter , just wish customer support would have said i have to buy a store to list on ebay .

best regards my freind and all the best

I could be wrong, but I don't think increasing the store size affects your monthly listing quotas. I'm pretty sure that only increases the number of free listings per month.

devon@ebay Can you confirm that changing bank account would not limit a seller by itself ?

My business has a new bank account and I'm very very worried now that this situation could happen to us.

With more than 3k+ listing right now (and adding daily) and a lot of hours put into them, it would be a deal breaker for us to have our account limited like that only for a bank account change.

We need some confirmation that this change alone would not trigger a limitation on listings.

Thank you.

Not enough sales with 2-5 per day? If that's the case, a lot of us are in trouble!  😬

OP mentioned that they wondered if it was an attempt to get them to open a store.

OP doesn't have a store (yet), I'm not sure how "ebay" thinks of 18,000 ish "different" items buried in 100ish listings as variations. I've never experimented with variations so I don't have any experience with that. Lots of folks are doing this in many categories (even in my (stamp) world).

My guess is that the combo of non store, high variations count was part of the problem, but that's only a guess.

It makes me worry a little less, the sales volume is worrysome as I may find out myself because my store will be closed for 4 months now till September. It was closed for 2 two month windows last year because of summer holidays and postal strike, no problems. I continue to pay eBay for the store each month whether its open or not, so I present a continuing income to ebay regardless of sales. OP would not. That difference may change things, I guess time will tell!!!
