How long does it take for ebay international shipping to deliver to canada?

Hello everyone

Bought a laptop on ebay, and got a notification today saying this:

• May 22, 2021
• 2:48pm

• Arrived at Consolidation Center. Shipment is being processed.
• FORDS, NJ 08863

What is this consolidation center, what is it for, and when am I gonna recieve my item?

It's a followup to this, it moved finally, for some reason took about 5 days before moving.

What dates were you given as a window for delivery?

Tracking is a Seller Protection against false claims of non-delivery.

If your purchase is not delivered during the window, you have 30 days to open a Dispute in the Resolution Centre at the bottom of this page.

If the seller cannot prove delivery (not shipping , delivery) you will be refunded.

So mark that last day on your calendar and relax.

It's  Victoria Day, shouldn't we be planting some tomatoes?

A consolidation centre is where items bound for a similar location are bundled together and shipped out as a single shipment to a common destination where they are then separated to continue their journey.  

My guess is that your laptop will be picked up by DHL and its next stop will either be the USPS International Sort Center in Jamaica, NY or the Canada Post Gateway facility in Mississauga, Ontario.

You've probably had items sent to you via mail consolidators in the past and not realized it.  I think one of the reasons why two of the cases I bought for my cell phones took longer to get to me than the phones forwarded through the GSP were that mail consolidators were used.  (One appeared to be sent via China but had a Swedish Post electronic franking mark on it.  The listing claimed that the item location was somewhere in the US.  Your laptop is unlikely going on such an extreme journey.)

Yep. I thought this service of delivery would be faster than gsp,its annoying to wait 2 weeks.

I’m puzzled by all your questions about delivery time when there was a delivery time estimate on the listing page when you made your purchase and you said in the other thread you were provided with a date of 21 June from eBay.

I don’t know where you are in Canada, but for me on Vancouver Island, two weeks is a very reasonable amount of time to wait for a standard, non-express shipment from most points in the United States in non-pandemic times. The transportation of goods in general is taking longer than that right now because of pandemic-related complications and increased online buying activity. If and when this state of affairs will be rectified is anyone’s guess, but for now, adjusting one’s expectations and/or purchasing habits is the best way to deal with it.

Well, USPS has  a new Board of Governors who have the power to bounce DeJoy, whose stated purpose in becoming PostMaster General has been to destroy the American post office in favour of the private couriers which is where he makes his money.
