Free Canada Post October Shipping Suggestion(s)

Hi.  Sorry for the super long post.  Please give this a read and see if you can help.  Copied from an eBay Canada FB posting. Thanks for your time.

For the past few years, Canada Post has offered free shipping for one package each week in October for Small Business card holders. We suggest that if you are a Small Business owner, that you use this free shipping to help some community groups.

These groups are looking for help. If you are able to help, it would be greatly appreciated.

Please send the contact person a PM before you send your package to confirm that they are still actively seeking help. Situations and needs can change rapidly.

Please be sure that anything you send is new or in excellent used condition. Most communities have little storage space and in many communities, disposing of unusable items is an issue.

PLEASE MARK YOUR BOXES “CLOTHING” SO THAT THE RECIPIENTS ARE AWARE

What a great and thoughtful idea! Come on fellow community members, clean out your closets and use up any unused free shipping Tuesdays.

Excellent idea! Great cause!

Love to take part in these endeavors as I often donate hand knitted items locally, especially scarves during the winter time...

have just shipped some off to one of the northern communities.

Perfect.

I just put together a box to send to a women's shelter in NU.  3.8kg it would have cost 42.20 without the "free Tuesday" and I cleaned out my closet.

Thank you so much for posting this idea.

I can't get the code to work-- it keeps telling me that it has already been used.

Grrr- well at least I'm ready for next Tuesday.

DH went to an auction and bought over $10K in postage so I don't really need the label for business.  Just gotta get it packed up for selling.

OMG...I love this idea. I've had no CAD sales these past two Tuesdays, so I've shipped gifts to family members. But now I know what I'm doing next week! Is there a max $$ the promotion will cover? I seem to recall it being $20...

No value restriction, just weight.

The max is 5kg -- which is when dimensional weight comes into play  (LxWxH in cm/5000 for Expedited or Xpresspost) or (LxWxH in cm/6000 for regular parcel).  So regular can squeeze in a bit more for "free" when you have a big package.
